wow, i'm not gonna lie but this is really disappointing, i was looking forward to this quite a bit, hopefully the OVA is just a stepping stone to a series and not the intended outcome of this project

As I prefer the OVA format over TV series, I don't see the issue here. Higher budgets, no time constraint that forces unfinished and unpolished episodes to air, hopefully longer runtimes per episode. The only downside is that they tend to be shorter and release less frequently.

While an OVA can be nice at times, this generally means we're getting 2 episodes or so vs 12 episodes... making it an inferior product that can't fully tell a story or develop its characters. Thats my worry.

I'm quite disappointed because I really liked the concept, and now it's far less likely that it'll get licensed or simulcasted.

I, too, was hoping for a series, but if the OVA has a long enough length to tell a decent story, I'll be happy with that.
