I have just finnished watching Infinte Ryvious and I have to say that it is an extreamly good anime series, I like it becasue it has some very dark moments and very light harted ones. But I would like to know wich anime series you think is more serious Infinate Ryvious or Now and Then, Here and there? Be sure to include spoiler tags.

i'd say berserk is a serious anime too
with all the political plotting and all, i believe it gives you an idea of how life in court really was like

I will say that the characters in NTHT are more realistic although the setting is more fantastic compared to Ryvius. The characters in Ryvius seemed to serve the plot and are harder for me to relate to. It might be that the ensemble nature of Ryvius made it hard for me to connect with the characters. The endings also are a factor since in the end of Ryvius (which I didn't like) everyone seems to be unchanged and all is forgiven unlike the end of NTHT which I can't remember too well since it's been a few years The bonus cartoons on the Ryvius (Ryvius Illusion?) really help lighten up the mood of Ryvius too. Overall I will say NTHT is a much darker series and it's characters go through far harsher ordeals compared to the Ryvius kids.

Yes, I agree that the ending of Ryvius was very disappointing. They should have ended it after the ship's rescue - the final episode just petered out, and the implication that the whole thing would happen all over again was tacky. I also thought the story lost some of it's power because we eventually found out that half of the kids had serious problems before they even entered the program. Not much of a screening process if Faina's instability wasn't detected, was it? Also, I think the show ultimately suffered because it couldn't decide if it wanted to be a political drama or teen drama.
NTHT is absolutely phenomenal, and I would recommend it to anyone who thinks they can handle it. I read somewhere that it's based on things really happening to children in Africa. I'd also put Grave of the Fireflies in the same category. It's about two children near the end of WWII and is also partially based on a true story.

Jin Roh was another intensly serious show. Filled with political messages and emotional drama. you'll have to watch it about a dozen times to understand even half of what the auther was trying to portray.

Wow, just had to delete more than half the thread for breaking the listing rule. People, please, most of you should know better; mindlessly putting "NTHT is morer seriouser" is not valid.

So you are asking which one is more serious/better between Infinite Ryvious AND Now and Then, Here and There right. So Berserk and Jin-Roh would not be a smart answers now would they.
I thought the whole war element in NTHT made it more serious and definetly a whole lot better than just some kids lost in space.

I listed several suggestions outside of NTHT and you still deleted my post. I kept NTHT in there because I wanted to add my voice to those who were suggesting it. How else are we supposed to know that one title is more acclaimed than another if all posts who reference the same title are suddenly cut down to one?! Next time you go pruning I wish you would try to keep from trimming the whole tree down to the root simply because you disapprove of a couple posts. This has to be the most uptight board I've ever visted over the last decade.
