I have to say, this looks like one the most competent Precures I've seen.

I hope this will be better then Smile Precure... Even though I like Sunny and Beauty, I couldn't get myself to like or enjoy the show itself.

Great, The characters look cool, I like the mascots they're cute.

Most mascots of Magical Girl animes are ugly. but these ones are cute.

Lance and Charles are totally girls names.

Looks interesting, but a bit disappointed the last two aren't Cure Spade and Cure Club to make it a card-themed group.

Or, their partners might be male? Though, I can't wrap my head around reading 'Sharuru' as 'Charles,' unless they released something that reads like romanized English for their names.

I totally thought it was going to be a card-themed group, until I looked back at the names. Cure Sword, maybe I can understand. Though, it sounds like something for a Tarot card, but Rosetta?

Sword and Rosetta come from the Italian name of Spade and Clubs.

There was a long explanation for it that involved Italy and history. It was on the Precure livejournal com on one of their spoiler discussion posts, but I can't seem to get onto it at the moment. So I will admit I am saying that from memory, but I do remember for sure that the modern Spade is an evolution of Sword. Rosetta had to do with other other name of Clubs being flowers, but I can't get the exact explanation at this present second.

Well, I know "spade" comes from the Italian "spada" which means "sword" (from the Latin "spatha"). Also, the Spade suit in playing cards is sorta derived from the Suit of Swords in tarot.

I don't know about Rosetta, but I guess it's not too much of a stretch to say that the producers thought that "Cure Club" sounded uncute and so they decided to go with Cure Rosetta based on the plant link and the pretty sound! ("Cure Clover" sounds so cute to me though, and so does the tarot-based "Cure Baton" but I guess they didn't think those names fit the character.)
