That's awesome! I always wanted him to not be a kid. I wish it was still on adult swim. That show rocked.

I have to clarify about the YTV used in this news article: It's YTV of Japan (Yomiuri TV), NOT the YTV of Canada!

[ranting]And, I have posted that news earlier last week (animenewsnetwork.com/bbs/phpBB2/viewtopic.php?t=25902) and nobody seemed to notice it...I don't rant for its wasn't on the main page, but the fact that nearly nobody read that.[/ranting]

His role has not been released yet.

By the way, who is this Detective (police-wise) Tamagawa (多摩川刑事)? There's a Japanese weblog asking the same question.

Agasa was not listed yet. The three other people listed are:

Suzuki Sonoko: IWASA Mayuko
Detective Tamagawa: IBU Masatou
Inspector Megure: NISHIMURA Masahiko

The second one was a new character.

I'm a bit confused here. There's six people listen on the site, right? Two of them are Shinichi and Ran, and SamCurt named three other. Who's the sixth? Gosho Aoyama?

I know you're right that it's Japan's "YTV", but the source - Zannen, Canada - often gives out Canada's "YTV" news, so that just seems a little odd.

I don't know the source of Zannen, Canada-- but maybe they mistook YTV of Japan for YTV of Canada and reported that as some news related to that site.

No, I'm aware that they are two different stations. I only reported it on my site because Conan is airing on Canadian TV right now, so it may have been of interest to those fans.

Yeah, I was about to say, that wasn't YTV of Canada that was gettin' that news out. So after God knows how many years they finally do something like that.

Conan is airing in America, aswell. The fact remains the article is very confusing.

When I first read it, I believe it was YTV of Canada, and my first thought was "What the hell?". My second was "Well....G-Savior wasn't too bad, neither was Fist of The North Star. Maybe this won't suck." (Side note: Both G-Savior and Fist of The North Star were canadian productions, for the live action films (Side note 2: I mentioned both as live films, even though G-Savior was technically never a anime. However, it was a video game released for Dreamcast with anime video included).

I think it would clear up alot of trouble if the article was edited and changed to Yomiuri TV, just to avoid all confusion.

Either way, I look forward to seeing this, hopefully.

I enjoy Drama based on anime/manga. I really enjoyed Gokusen, Densha Otoko, and Kimi wa Petto.

So...what are they gonna call this series then? Meitantei Conan wouldn't make sense and Case Closed...well let's leave that to the americans. Meitantei Shinichi? Sounds a bit to obvious...
