Thank goodness. Left on a cliffhanger and no real assurance of a sequel series, Victorian Romance Emma was one of those anime that made fans wanted to mob the studio for leaving the series too short. Well, in the September issue of Monthly Comic Beam, they've announed the second series of everyone's favourite English maid. The announcement was also "maid" in the Victorian Romance Emma's official website (http://www.emma-victorian.com/). The second series will consist of the Mölders House arc. No episode count has yet been announced.

Mmm, learned it a month ago. Just not significant enough to make it to the front page.

Not important enough-- hrmph!!
It'll be interesting to see where they end this season, because the Moulder chapters in the manga end on a very nice, but still unresolved note, as they're still a few more volumes before the end of the manga. I guess this means it'll probably be a 12/13 ep show like the first season too (if they really are just covering the Moulder chapters). The amount of the manga they're covering will be comparable. Perhaps if this one does well, they'll eventually pick up a 3rd season too, and continue to the end of the manga. At the least, I'm very excited about a 2nd season-- I didn't really know if it would happen. |

It was not for me to decide which news is worthy to be posted onto the front page of ANN. |

Wait wait wait... I don't get it... ANN has stuff like "New Di-Gi-Charat Miniseries", while Emma's second season doesn't get a mention, even when you interview the manga's writer in a different article. Answer me that.
It's not too late either. |

I didn't mean to sound really grumpy--mostly just playful. I don't run ANN, and am happy with what is given here. I mean, obviously I found out about the second season becaue I'm a big fan of the show. Still, it was (and is) odd to me that it was never big enough news for the front page, considering what goes up there. But whatever. That's pretty small beans to me.
As before, I'm just happy the second season is happening. Although it is still one of those shows that no one really talks about. Perhaps more of an ending to it will make it more marketable and palatable to other viewers. |

Hmm....maybe not so many over here who actually know about it (I didn't before I read this post) - and even if they do, I get the impression that the series doesn't exactly pander to the mainstream anime community. Which definitely got me interested |

Not yet for anime; manga licensed by CMX Manga. |

Well, Di Gi Charat is more well known than Emma (not saying it's any better, but it is more well known). Although it doesn't have much of a reputation here, it's rather famous in Japan, even having its own chain of anime stores (Well actually, it's more the other way around since Di Gi Charat was made as a promotion for Gamers, but you get the point). I can't begin to list the amount of anime Di Gi Charat has been referenced to or parodied in. ... or it may just be because Zac likes Di Gi Charat. |

All of this is true. The fact is, Emma has an intense but still largely marginal fanbase, whereas Di Gi Charat is (arguably) in the mainstream.
Don't try to make it sound so nefarious. There's nothing ethically wrong with an editorial staff promoting a particular subject, on the basis of personal taste, over another subject. It's called editorial choice, and it's part of the creative process of editing. And there's even less reason to make it seem odious when (as already observed) a mainstream subject with a wide following is given priority over a subject with a narrow fanbase. Even so, it would have been nice to see a mention of the second series in the news. Then again, maybe a more in-depth news item, to be run when more actual production details are known, is in the works? - abunai |

I was half kidding about it. Even though there's nothing ethically wrong about it, I don't think that's how news should be posted though. But I'm pretty sure it isn't the reason they posted it. Iirc, Zac doesn't even post the news on this site. |

I'm kind of curious about this series. Much to my surprise and consternation, I've found I really like romance anime, so I'd be happy to hear some people's thoughts on why this is such a unique series.
