NEWS: Kenichi the Mightiest Disciple Manga to End This Month

well this gives me mixed feelings. This was one of the best action manga series ever to a certain point of a manga, then it went downhill, unquestionably.

But despite that, no it was not cancelled. Kenichi is a top selling manga I rember it reaching 500 k some years a go when I was looking at weekly manga sales, i doubt it dropped that much.
Guess Matsuena lost interest, he's a rich man he can do what he wants after he's had a big hit for so many years.

I am just disapointed that kenichi never really became a martial arts master. A time skip would have been better, showing kenichi being 50+ years old as a badass martial artist having his own disciple or something

I feel like after the last chapter there's so much left to clean up. I think he might do a new Kenichi series with a time jump.no longer Deciple but mightiest warrior? Shot in the dark but look at Baki the grappler to Baki son of Ogre type situation?

true enough though i kinda doubt the author will do a sequel like that. kinda too bad that the manga never got licensed in the US let alone the OVAs.

It sounds like the OVAs aren't done yet though and Funi did say the series did well (it's on the Classics line) so I don't see why they wouldn't go for them.
