Ps4 continues to be the platform of choice for JRPGS.

Surprised by Namco Bandais dedication to the platform to give us this, it will be a nice addition in the ranks of Disgaea 5, Star Ocean 5, FF15, FF7R, and more. 2016 is going to be a really hot year for the JRPG.

This is awesome! I loved the first one, but didn't have much hope for a sequel because of Ghibli's current state.

Hopefully it's still a monster collecting game like the first one. I'm a bit worried with the lack of gameplay and creatures shown.

I practically had to shove a sock in my mouth this morning to keep from screaming. I had given up all hope of getting a sequel(Still have no hope of getting a localization of the DS game). Really hope by the end of the month we might word if they plan on releasing the game in 2016 or not.

I'm utterly obsessed with the first game. I have the Wizard Edition, the official cape, the Japanese DS game, a replica of Mornstar *and*of the Locket.

Well remembering that video game consoles aren't exactly hot selling items in Japan then they are in America and Europe that 's understandable though I wonder how good the DS version of the game sold by comparison.

Yeah, the difference in game system preference and the difference in population take into account. Also, the first one is the DS version that sold the most. S'why ya don't hear too much talk about Ni no Kuni amongst western JRPGs.

I'm not sure what you mean here, about "western JRPGs". Is it that Level-5, the maker of Ni No Kuni, is based in Fukuoka, in the western part of Japan?

IIRC the DS version was the original, and it wasn't localised because the book was required to play the game and it cost too much to reproduce. The PS3 game had space for a digital copy of the book to be included on the disc which made it viable.
