I just found the phrase "a wife" strange in this article:
animenewsnetwork.com/news/2016-03-16/pokemon-company-designer-eric-medalle-killed-in-windstorm/.99854 and wanted it brought to the attention of ANN's editors but didn't want to mention about it in the talk-back for that article. |

It's awkward, but removing the "a" would make it read as "another young daughter and wife," implying a second family. Even if you change it to "his wife," it still reads a bit awkwardly. Preferably, it would have to be changed to "survived by his wife and another young daughter."
