Many people had expected this promotion to end some time in 2017 because there were rumors that JR West was going to retire the 500 Series Shinkansen trainset from the Kodama all-stops service between Shin-Osaka and Hakata (Fukuoka) Stations at that time. This confirms that JR West will likely keep the 500 Series trainset operational until 2018, and they'll probably retire this trainset along with the rest of the 500 Series fleet at the same time.

Correction suggestion: Hakata is in Fukuoka, not Fukushima.
I wish I could ride this train though! It looks really fun
