Whoa, Hell Girl. Think this was like the 3rd anime I watched back when I was actually getting in to anime (not including ones I saw as a kid)

I like Hell Girl when I watched way back when (back in my illegal streaming days). Was kind of upset after I found out that Funimation didn't license the successive seasons and Sentai scooped them up if only because I liked the dub cast for the series.

One of my favorites. First time I saw it was on IFC. I absolutely refuse to watch the puppy abuse episode from the first season ever again. Like, I will legit skip over it. I know there are real people like that in the world who do that to harmless animals but its just...way too upsetting for me to handle, in the same way I could not handle the vet thing from the fourth episode.
Hone Onna had probably the most interesting storylines in my opinion. I loved the episodes from the second season involving her helping the girl taken in by the elderly geisha, the story about her history, and the one about the sleezy director (Hone Onna's Wet Holiday I think it was called?) I feel like I am one of the only ones who did not care for the third season. It could have been a heck of a lot better than it was. I just could not bring myself to care about Yuzuki, despite the hell (har har) that she went through. |
