Hmm, I think the theme song for this show works well along with the character designs. Still hope this will be a 2-cour though as there's a decent amount of material to adapt.

So Yoshimi Itazu (director of Pigtails) is going to direct this. Now I finally understand what he meant
He was a guest of honour during the Scotland Loves Anime film festival last year because the festival screened his Pigtails movie. There was a Questions & Answers session with him after the screening. The guy who ran the session asked him if there was any particular place in the UK that he is interested in going to or knowing more about and his answer was: Blackpool !! When asked "Why Blackpool ?!!", he said that "it might have something to do with my next project." When he said that, I thought that his next movie will be set in Blackpool and it may be some Victorian era story or something along those lines. It never occurred to me that his next work would be a TV series and that he is interested in Blackpool because it is the venue of the Blackpool Dance Festival !! The fact that he knows about the festival might also have something to do with it being at the centre of events in the 1996 Japanese movie "Shall We Dance ?" |
