Huh, I wonder why we're getting a new GITS anime so suddenly...hmm...

Anyway, glad to see these guys come back to make more GITS!

Press release from IG regarding this news...

Just saw Mr. Kamiyama almost three weeks ago...they wait until NOW to say this? I CAN'T WAIT!!!

(That awkward moment where I'm asking myself if I want Atsuko Tanaka's Section 9 or Maaya Sakamoto's Section 9 more)

I'm hoping they adapt all of GITS manga faithfully. but i wouldnt complain about another S.A.C too, or something brand new by Kenji Kamiyama.

Yep, like others say, I'm definitely up for more SAC! I feel like they might lean towards that as a result of the reception Arise got.

I personally want an anime series very very close to manga, mostly art style/character design. No anime adaptation has done that yet.

I disagree, I do not wish for the manga to be completely adapted. I'd very much prefer that the staff would craft something of their own like all the other adaptations. I don't need a carbon copy of something that already exists.

Well, it's not like Arise was loathed, or anything. I rather enjoyed it myself. It just wasn't on the same level as SAC.

Perhaps they could base it on Shirow's The Ghost in the Shell 2: Man Machine Interface. The main character of that is named Motoko Aramaki. It would be interesting to see if they could make something intelligible out of that.
