Tragic. His work as a composer helped make Gundam so memorable. Some could claim the man might have already had a long life, but dying in a fire accident is such a horrible way to end one's time on this planet.

That's an absolutely terrible way to go. Poor Matsuyama. He was part of the Gundam beginning and he even returned for Origin, which tells you a lot about his passion and dedication. That's both unfortunate and unfair that this happened to him.

I wonder what caused the fire.

I only recently started getting into the Gundam franchise with the original 1979 series. His music was pretty beautiful and added some rich flavoring to some of my favorite scenes in the show. Dying in a fire? What a way to end... May he rest in peace and his compositions echo throughout the heavens. Amen.
