I started watching an anime a sort of long time ago that began with a boy in a room. There were red lines all over the wall, and he was telling an adult about the lines only to be...denied somehow, I think. I'm pretty sure a main character in this anime had long pale hair and I think vampires were involved (which is why I stopped. Would it be possible to provide an extra favor and maybe tell me how prominent the vampires are to the story? Thanks, and sorry for the vague question.)

Hey there, I'm looking to round out my Eva collection in preparation for a potential Eva Day marathon watching and was wondering about 2 DVDs I saw and wasn't sure what they were. One was subtitled "Genesis Reborn" the other "Resurrection". Are these just new names for Death & Rebirth or new productions that aren't in the encyclopedia for some reason?
Oh, while I'm on Eva, anyone know when the new movies are seeing the states? (Besides bootlegs which I'd rather not stoop to at this point) |

Neon Genesis Evangelion - Resurrection (Director's Cut, Episodes 21-23) Neon Genesis Evangelion - Genesis Reborn (Director's Cut, Episodes 24-26) One thing I really don't like about American anime licensees is de novo subtitles for individual volumes. The number of episodes per disc is already different from that of the R2 releases, and adding those de novo subtitles creates more confusion.

I was too young to remember more than random details, but does this jog anyone else's memory:
A space epic anime, likely a movie or 2-part miniseries, that aired on young Nickelodeon's afternoon Special Delivery in the very early 1980s. The setting was a post-colonial galaxy, where Earth is apparently less in touch with its planetary colonies, some of whom have created their own space empires. Among these empires was "Cassiopeia" (complete with a golden "W" national crest in deference to their namesake constellation), who were a militant, mercantilist, demagogic republic run by a loud and overbearing yet incompetant leader resembling a cross between Hugo Chavez and Baron Harkonnen. Their warships were called "sharks" and "tiger sharks" and were stylized to resemble such. In many ways, Cassiopeia is a precursor to the corrupted opportunistic Centauri Republic of the television series "Babylon 5." At the other end of the spectrum is shown a poor, less-advanced colony world, which has lost touch with central Earth, and whose people view the hulking shell of their original giant colony ship as an eerie monument of their long lost parents. At some point, the show's hero is marooned on this planet (or perhaps he is a starry-eyed native looking for something greater a la Luke Skywalker) and must make his way off-planet and to Earth, uncovering the sad stories of the history of human colonization along the way. At one point, a colony native tells the hero of once seeing the warships of the other battling human nations, and these dreadnoughts are shown as huge hulking rectagular ships with triangular front weapon prows. Five of these ships can converge into a 5-pointed star-shaped configuration with their front triagular prows interlocking at the center, forming a devastating pentagram-shaped mega-cannon often used for planetary bombardments. Everybody, however, it threatened by the approach of a giant robot factory/city ship, which I think has been smashing opposition as it makes a destructive beeline to Earth. Even caustic and paranoid Cassiopeia, which grudgingly finally joins the Earth coalition formed by our young hero to stop the menace, eventually must surrender, much to the weeping dismay of its vain-yet-tragic leader. The menacing robot supership is a giant glass-domed saucer, with the factory city splayed along the top of the silvery dish, and all surmounted by a towering central structure in the shape a bearded or mustachioed metallic head, which serves as the omniscient command center/temple. Our hero must ultimately visit the robot mothercity, and learns that the giant central head structure bears the face of the robot's long dead human master, whom the worker robots still revere and believe are still serving. The artwork of the show had the early feel of flicks like "Galaxy Express 999" or even "Star Blazers." The characters, however, were stylized with heads almost resembling potatos or gerbils sporting 1970's hair (think of Dr. Sane in "Star Blazers") but with exaggerated long, thin noses, similar to Pinocchio. Errr, okay, a long mental gush, and many of the plot details may not even be correct, as I was younger than 10 when I saw this and couldn't pay attention the full couple of hours that this stretched. It may not even be fully or even partly Japanimation, as its feel had much in common with "The Mysterious Cities of Gold" and "Spartakus and the Sun Beneath the Sea," which were partly or entirely French productions also shown on Nickelodeon. Still, any help from anyone who might recognize what this may be is greatly welcomed and appreciated. |

I'm not sure whether this is the anime you are looking for, but that description that a woman android / cyborg with blonde hair goes on the rampage in a 1980's anime with a dark atmosphere kind of reminds me of Black Magic M-66. However, though you said the anime which you'd like to identify had been aired in the eighties about '82 to '84 in the U.K., Black Magic M-66 was released in 1987 in Japan. i don't really remember when this anime started to air but i watched it when i was around 5 years old so that's about 1991. so if any of you have any idea of this anime please tell me.
description: 1. the main character liked curry rice (doesn't exactly narrow it down much but...) 2. i believe he had red hair (i was 5 so please understand) 3. the sport the anime was based on was like soccer but you threw the ball, but i don't think it was rugby or football. 4. a scene i remember was that the main character threw the ball at a high speed over a swimming pool towards a goal post that his friend was guarding and split the water and knocked his friend down. 5. another scene was that in the game an opposing team used a 5-point star formation throwing the ball at each other (thus showing a star to prove that they threw the ball fast) that's all i got. if any of you can find out what anime i'm talking about you must be a freakin magician or a knower-of-everything. but if you can't then of course i understand considering i don't remember it. so if you tried then thank you for your help. |

That may have been Honoo no Tôkyûji Dodge Danpei. In the anime a team which is a good match for the hero's team uses the five-pointed star formation. anime#2181 |

i just finished watching the first series of Slayers and have Im in the middle of the 'next' series.
my question is what order do all the series go in? Im pretty sure 'try' comes after 'next', but when does 'lost universe'' come in and the 'book of spells OVAS' and then theres the movies. Do the movies fit in with the story lines at the end of each series? im confused!!!  some info on the order to watch would be great.
