As soon as I saw the title I knew it was Batty. Now I want Dio to make a tears in the rain speech, lol. Wouldn't be out of character at all.

And here, like a fool, i thought that DIO's design was based on the metal vocalist Dio, and the various outfits he wore throughout the decades.

Huh. I knew Blade Runner was a major influence on anime, but I didn't think JoJo's Bizarre Adventure was any big case of that.
It does make sense in hindsight though. JoJo's was, and still is, way more influenced by American entertainment than Japanese entertainment.

Still think David Bowie circa Glass Spider Tour is the chief inspiration for Dio. I mean look at the outfit he wore, It's a near perfect match for Dio's outfit in Stardust Crusaders:https://youtu.be/V7MNseyT0mk Well, that and Shin from Fist of the North Star.

I remember catching the original Blade Runner on AMC a couple of months back and the villain reminded me of Dio.
