Hey, I'm considering buying this now and I've got 3 options I'm trying to work out

1) Buy thinpack @ 81$ price on rightstuf/amazon/etc.
2) Buy individual volumes of vol 2-7 (8$ each for 6 = 48) + amazon's 1st volume + art box (I can get this for 27$ from one of the sellers that has a rating over 80, don't really want to repeat what I did with last exile by practically paying 32$ for a box lol).
3) Wait for a sale of the thinpack so I can get it for less?

From the screenshots the box art, etc. on the full set looks better to me than the thinpack, is there anyone who has seen both to make an assessment on that? Since the pricing of the thinpack isn't really any less I'm not too sure if I should go with that.

I'm not sure if this will be a factor, but ADV's Full Metal thinpack is one of their few (along with Gantz) that retains all of the extras.

Usually if the prices are about the same (which is common since TRSI frequently liquidates the individuals when box sets are available) I will get the individual discs which usually in ADV means better extras.

Since this isn't the case for Full Metal Panic I would suggest waiting for the next ADV sale to get the thinpack for cheap. It might be a few months from now since he last TRSI ADV sale was in late September with the one before in late April and the buy 25 fot $100 in early March. More than likely we will have a long overdue Viz sale followed by smaller Right Stuf and Manga sales.

I had trouble coming up with all seven discs at a discounted price. TRSI has about four, last I checked, and other places had some, but they didn't end up overlapping. I waited for a TRSI sale and got the thinpak for cheap, I think it ended up at $41. But dvdpacific and Deep Discount (with a sale) are also options to get the thinpak cheap.

Edit: I see TRSI has all the individual discs. Never mind. Embarassed

ahh, dvdpacific. Ok, never been there before myself but since 2 recommendations for it I'll take it they are at least reasonable.

Thanks for the help all. 55$ is a very fair price for this as it's around the price of the dvds, knowing that all the extras are still in there is great.

I didn't buy that, but that site has some good deals. I'd been looking for an elfen lied set in the 30s... they had it in the 20s.
