I love the image ANN used for this story because it makes it look like Eren is an illegal uploader and he's scared he's gonna get sued.

They do realize this is an empty threat since Japanese laws do not apply outside the country. Also good luck trying to stop places like nyaa that don't acknowledge DMCA takedown notices.

To be fair, while I think they won't do all that much with the evilness that is copyright, if they don't practice their rights they lose them in court. So they need to keep up appearances.
