Good this can help Gintama get more popular in the west I’ll definitely be watching this movie this year.

I wonder if they'll give the series its 4th English voice cast just to keep up the joke that the Gintama franchise can never retain a consistent cast in English, lol.
At this point they might as well accept it as part of the show's own humor.

Though if they opt instead to bring one of the three existing casts back, I wonder which they'll go for?

The best option would be bringing the cast back from the dub CR did for one of the latter seasons. Second would be a new cast that captures what made the Canadian dub work.

I guess I'm not surprised they're dubbing it so much as just morbidly curious where they'll dub it considering this franchise's spotty record.

I very much doubt the ending of the series is going to attract many new fans.

Maybe but they wouldn’t expect not to attract somewhat new fans if they didn’t think bringing the movie oversea would hack it, it can still help Gintama grow even just a little bit is better than nothing.
