Considering the LN's popularity, this is quite expected.

Kadokawa also revealed that Alya will also become a VTuber.

Except this.

Excited to hear Sumipe flexing her Russian.

I knew this would be getting an anime sooner or later since it’s so popular, I’ve read the first 2 volumes and while I personally found it to be a bit generic it’s enjoyable so I’ll definitely give the anime a watch.

She cannot hide her very thick Japanese accent though - but yeah, it's the role that fits her 100%.

So, for those that read the light novels or manga, who should voice our heroine in Eng. if the anime gets a simuldub?

I will say something close to Brianna Knickerbocker if we go by just voice, but the question is - are there many dub actresses that can pull occasional Russian as part of the character gimmick?

I honestly am not aware of any Eng. dub VA who are fluent in Russian.

Saw this coming from a mile away but definitely glad Uesaka is returning for the role.

Not my kind of show but hey, I will give it a go when it comes out.

Well, me neither, but it's not necessary to be fluent if they just have a good voice direction. But considering the recent Akiba Maid War dub - that's gonna be a hard time even with the training, and I have certain doubts.

Alexis Tipton? I think she's voiced a few Russian characters. I think for her Dummbells character she actually consulted a dialect coach.

Honestly I don't even remember Gina/Zina talking a lot of actual Russian even in Japanese outside of a couple of words, so it's not even the same level to compare. Kind of fun choice though.

…Eh, looking at the publication history, I guess this counts as a Narou anime for the purposes of my spreadsheet. In which case this is the most recent story we've gotten an anime announcement for -- a title that My One-Hit-Kill Sister had held for just over a year.

Funny that the "pending" list includes a 2020/2021 work like this alongside the likes of decade-old titles Unnamed Memory, New Saga+, and The Apothecary Diaries. The industry's never straightforward.
