Sakuya is best girl for me. Followed by Nala. Interesting that Sakuya is a Sumeragi. I wonder what her relation is to Kaguya (and Suzaku). Also interesting is that Karis/Kalice is spoiler[the 100th emperor of Neo Britannia]. Stanley's face makes me laugh.

Takahiro Kimura passed away so I guess he must have made designs and they were picked by others?

Kind of unexpected that Disney grabbed the international rights, I don't know if this means that this will get dubbed into multiple languages. The only anime that were released on Disney/Star+ internationally and included dubbed versions were Black Rock Shooter: Dawnfall, Summer Time Rendering, Bleach: Thousand-Year Blood War, Tokyo Revengers S2 and Undead Unluck. If this new Code Geass porject gets dubbed it'll be the first CG project dubbed into Spanish. There were rumors that Funimation was going to dub the original Code Geass into Neutral Spanish, but it seems their plans got scrapped when they merged with Crunchyroll

Perhaps this project was in development for quite a while, after all, making an anime takes time. Takahiro could have been involved in the production before his passing, just like how Akira Toriyama was involved in the production of Dragon Ball Daima

According to the official website:

"*Some of the images are posted as they are based on Takahiro Kimura's rough design sketches."

I have to imagine it will be dubbed. The fact that a lot of their picks are 2nd seasons or outright sequel shows like Bleach TYBW shows they want pretty proven hits, and Code Geass was huge in its heyday, thanks to being broadcast (in America at least) on Adult Swim before streaming was widespread and the streaming wars mostly killed cable. I'm sure that going "hey new Code Geass dropped" is going to activate people's nostalgia (currently imagining the news activating people with the same animation of a Geass altering a brain) and probably score a few subscribers (or get lapsed subscribers to re-up) that weren't interested in D+ before.

NGL, the trailer did not really sell me on this anime. The MC doesn't sound or look remotely as cool or entertaining as Lelouch. However, further trailers can change my mind.

It's also set in the Code Geass movie timeline I believe? So that is fine

Do we need this? The original show was 2 seasons long and perfectly adequate. Nothing else I’ve seen suggests more anime was needed, especially the awful Re;surrection movie.

If it's going to be marketed as a Disney+ original it has a big chance of getting dubbed, but there's been some D+ anime that were released without a dub despite being billed as D+Original. Still, with Code Geass it'd be interesting if the original series will be added and if it will be dubbed into various languages, there's also the possibility that it might get redubbed in some markets, because that's a thing that has happened with some anime like Evangelion, Fullmeal Alchemist Brotherhood and Cowboy Bebop
I also have to clarify that Bleach TYBW's dub was produced by Viz Media in various languages, Disney only added it to their service alongside all of the episodes from the original anime

They already had a remake/compilation quadrilogy. But the movies didn't exactly make seed freedom money.

Why did Crunchyroll pass on getting more Code Geass? I recall this being a big hit when it came out and I still see a lot of fans talk about the original series and Crunchyroll had that giant $500 BD boxset recently so you would think they would be all on more Code Geass.

Fate has a ton of spinoffs that no one watches. I don't see the problem with sunrise doing this.
