Since they are now in the "final battle," curious to see how long this arc of Sakamoto will last and when it will end? My guess it could be 1-2 years from now and it will have approx. 25-26 volumes in total.

Here's to hope the anime doesn't get fully caught up with the manga and that it takes a one year break to give the animators enough time to animate the next episodes since as the saying goes you can't rush art.

Personally, I don't think it will last that long; I would even say that it will probably end by the end of this year. I really like the manga, but I don't think the hype is as high as JJK, for example, where the battle against Sukuna lasted over a year. I don't think it's the kind of series that needs to be stretched out too much in order to have a cohesive ending (something like Mashle), and knowing how Shonen Jump fighting series usually end, I wouldn't be surprised if things ended quickly.

Excellent. That means I can start reading it soon. I don't have Netflix so not watching the anime, but also didn't want to read if the end wasn't close.

They literally introduced like five new villains in the latest chapter. It’s hard to say how long this final arc will last.

Shame to see it end, but it feels like most authors aren't interested in spending a decade working on the same series these days, even if it were popular enough to warrant it.

Better to end well at a logical planned place then to become a tortured mess like boruto and bleach.

I didn't expect an ending but instead Shin replacing Sakamoto as new lead. Still, there are several characters to fight. I just hope everybody gets the time to shine considering poor Lu had the Nobara curse.

I’m not sure why it’s the trend lately to wait and start doing an anime adaptation of a shonen manga right when the manga is about to end. I guess it better insures the anime will get a complete adaptation but it also seems like a way to kill hype for the anime adaptation to start them so late in the game.

I imagine this is less of an active "trend" and probably more a natural consequence to studios being booked for stuff so far in advance these days that by the time they can actually get around to adapting these titles, they're nearly over

Why would that kill hype for the anime? It was horrible growing up knowing that it'd take years upon years before Naruto and Bleach would catch up to the manga, and even worse knowing that the mangas weren't even finished. It's more enjoyable just being able to go through something start to finish knowing that the end is already set (or soon to be established), and that the anime will actually adapt everything without significant gaps.

We’ve been seeing this happening with anime like Undead Unluck and Yozakura Family. It’s easier to sustain hype for an anime when the manga is still going.

I'd attribute the lack of interest more with the availability of the series, plus how popular the series actually is. For example - Bleach can do well on Disney because it's Bleach. You will get people who didn't even have Disney going the extra mile just to watch it. Undead Unluck is not the same as that in terms of popularity so putting it on a service that most do not go to for anime isn't the best decision for getting the most viewers/engagement.
