There's an entire industry of potential for collabs and I have to say as a longtime Guilty Gear fan, Lucy is probably just about the one singular character they could have picked that I would have even given a crap about. She looks really great in motion, and I also really like that she seems to have similar vibes to Phonon on Under Night, so I'm pretty surprised to say that they made a great selection out of an entire industry of other potential characters that could have shown up.

For you and I, perhaps. But guest fighters are generally (though not always,) responsible for a spike in activity. We'll see if that's the case here, of course, but if it achieves the desired goal (increased engagement, financial and otherwise,) then calling it a "wasted slot" is little more than sour grapes.

There are like only 5 GG legacy characters remaining, and we are getting at least 2 of them next year with Strive 2.0. I get bitching about guests if it was season 1-2 (or if guest was cristiano ronaldo lmao), but 5 years into game's life cycle it doesn't hurt.

Given the wonky reaction that SNK got, again, I feel like Lucy is probably the top of the pick-list for any character they ever could have announced as a guest. There's actually a fair shot we might get a Rev2 for Strive now as well, so I cant really complain at about where the game is at as a whole right now.
