Almost this entire list is Switch/Switch 2.

That didn't help the PS Vita, I'd say that the main probems is that the PlayStation doesn't have the types of games that appeal to mainstream audiences in Japan, many of the series that used to sell millions of copies back in the PSOne, PS2, PS3 and even in the PS4 days don't sell as they used to, even counting digital sales, and I don't think younger audiences care about some old IPs, don't think Final Fantasy VII Remake Itergrade's Switch 2 port will make any considerable big numbers, as well as the Switch 2 version of Resident Evil Requiem, I believe that third-party developers haven't tried hard enough to built an audience on Nintendo's consoles, that's why they depend more on Western sales, that's fine for AAA games developed in Japan, but there's been a decline in sales for smaller games.

Pretty much. Though as I recall the Vita in Japan did have some fanservice friendly games that I guess never blew up to become anything prevalent or just came and went like Senran Kagura. Guess you needed more DragonQuest esque games or something.

Well shit that doesn’t sound too good in light of the discourse I’ve heard about smaller games having a place in the current gaming market.

Most of the boxed sales in Japan are Nintendo these days

Most of the sales in everything else are digital now

So this boxed sales list is becoming less and less representative of what's going on
