It needs to show watch status (interested, watching, completed, dropped, etc.) by color.

Also, the ability to hide series (whether individually, by watch status, by streaming service, etc.) would be nice.

- Links to the season's Preview Guide, maybe just one at the top or bottom of the page? (Or preferably, one to the individual series page.)

- Links to series reviews, the show's review homepage for weeklies, and any post-season reviews.

Yes, I know this stuff is available on the encyclopedia page that linked off the individual show's panel. But it would be handy to be there on the season page.

Good addition to the site, I like it! Design-wise, I think it's also not too terrible as a start. A few touches to make it look more modern, and that should already be it. A few things I've noticed that could be improved:

  • Better countdown: Echoing what Somer-_- said, the countdown right now seems a bit weird. Counting up from the finale doesn't add anything. And floating-point numbers for days/hours seems really unintuitive. At least I don't know off the top of my head how long .7 of a day is. I'd say counting down actual hours seems more reasonable.
  • Inconsistent formatting: Why is "Studio" in italics, but "Premiere" is bold? I'd say choose either or; personally I'd use bold, but italics could work as well. But a mix is just weird.
  • Why list the type at all? At first I was confused why everything was just marked as TV. It's a seasonal overview for TV shows, after all. Only after looking at everything did I figure out that this is meant to also show if it's a sequel. Well, at least sometimes, as long as it shares the same name as a previous season. And sometimes it's just a year, maybe to indicate remakes? But then why is One Piece listed as TV 1999? Overall, that just seems confusing as it is right now.
  • Clearer seasons: Which brings me straight to the next point: The idea of showing if a show is a sequel and which entry it is in the franchise is really nice. But if added, it should be consistent. I assume this is due to limitations of the database? Sometimes shows get an addendum if they are the nth show with the same name, but there is definitely potential, and I think it would be nice to have this data available.
  • Better format for start dates: Reformat the start dates to have the month written out as their respective names. At first I thought the dates were formatted as American dates, because they are way too often on the Internet, only to realize they are formatted as year-month-day. It looks like data taken straight from the database and output without applying anything to it. Having dates in a pretty format would probably be preferable.
  • Titles in other languages: Any chance we can get titles in other languages? I'm used to reading titles in romaji, so scrolling through the list and not finding the show I'm looking for because it's listed under its English title is a bit confusing. So an option to switch would be very much appreciated.
  • Genres in lowercase: Currently, all genres are listed in lowercase. It's not wrong, but it feels weird to see. Probably a limitation of the software, so I'm not sure if it's even possible to change that, but I think treating genres like names could be preferred.
  • Weird wrapping with long studio names: I'm seeing weird wrapping of the word "Studio" when the name of the studio is too long. Maybe an oversight? Probably better if the name of the studio wrapped instead of the word...
  • User rating precision is too high: Some anime have rather exact scores. Nobody needs them to like the fifth decimal. I think two decimals should be enough.

And that's already all I could find. Probably looks like a lot, but really it's just a bunch of minor things that caught my eye. Probably nothing too major that can't be fixed or ignored. I really like where this is heading, so I'm looking forward to the final design ^^

I like where this is going. I'd like a sort by release order or sort by next episode air date. Maybe also filters for sequels, anime originals, and original source (i.e. based on manga/LN/game).

Are the genres intended to be a clickable filter or something like that? Seems like a button, but clicking doesn't seem to do anything.

Showing the season # would definitely be helpful where it's a returning series.

Also, this might have a much longer lead-time, but it would be fun to browse anime by the season it aired on historically back to the 60s. The encyclopedia already has the initial & episode by episode air dates, so it'd be cool to make jumping between seasons a feature of the seasons page.

Happy Holidays!

Above all else, there's one thing that I would appreciate immensely.

PLEASE PLEASE PLEASE PLEASE PLEASE would it be possible to make it so that the rating for a title is hidden unless one clicks on a "See Rating" button or something like that?

Perhaps I'm in the minority here, but I do my best to decide if I should watch something without depending on any external influences. I've often found that after I finish watching something, the rating I would give a title is different from the general consensus.

By the way, I believe I also read someone else's post regarding the old grid format. I do like that too. It lets me have a better sense of how many I've got left to watch. Maybe make it so that each title's info is only revealed by clicking on a drop-down arrow or something?

Also, while I'm at it, I saw another user had mentioned something about sorting by titles. I did enjoy the seemingly random order in which they were listed (probably just the order in which they were added with the exception of sponsored titles being placed at the top).

The point is, adding sorting options such as whether or not all episodes are available, episode count (I usually watch those with 24 episodes after I'm done with the 12's for example), genre, etc, would certainly come in handy.

So yeah, I guess I generally just like the old, "title and image" only version more. But at the very least the undisclosed rating point would be the one that would have me most obliged. Really the only thing that's truly necessary in my book is:

1. Title
2. Synopsis
3. Episode Count (current season only or make two for all vs current season)
4. Completion Status (date released/completed would be nice)

I like the listing of the studio. I'm not (not) going to watch a show based on the studio, but it's a good item to include.

Include me with the folks who wish for A, An, The, ', etc. to not be included in alphabetical sorting. I'm not going to ask for numbers sorted by their spelled out name - I programming that once, never again.

Also, I'd appreciate the day of week (Mon, Wed, ...) that the show usually airs so that I can plan a little for the evening, or tomorrow evening. I live week-to-week and don't translate dates into days of week very well.

Another like-to-have is the # of minutes the episodes have, 23-24 but sometimes 5 or 12. But this feature is low on my wish-list.

Looking good so far (viewing on website on a desktop).
Lots of good suggestions already been made.

Romanji tilte (in brackets?) would be nice to have as well as the English title.

TV and TV2 wasn't clear to me. Supposed to indicate season?

If going to list One Piece, then Detective Conan (Meitantei Conan (still dispise Case Closed as "English" title)) should be on the page too!!! Which does NOT have defined seasons as has been on non-stop since Jan 8, 1996.

This is a hold-over from Encyclopedia formatting. If you go to the One Piece encyclopedia page, it's also listed as (TV 1999). This is to differentiate it from THE One Piece, an upcoming One Piece anime remake by Wit Studio.

I'm guessing this might change in the future, but the pop-up when you click the series image doesn't really seem to provide any additional info, so I'm not sure why it's there, at least right now.

4 - Add sort option (alphabetical / date)

Since date can be a number of things, please add an option to sort by airdates of all the next episodes if you weren't already planning it. So regardless of what episode number is coming up, if it's in in 2 hours it would be first, followed by another shows next episode in 3 hours etc. Livechart calls this sort option "countdown" for reference.

Somer-_- wrote:
I would say just countdown with full days and maybe hours (5 days or 5 days 19 hours instead of 5.8 days) then switch to hours and minutes under 1 day.

First thing I noticed. Days and hours (if you don't want to drill down to minutes) is much better than x.x days

You mean desktop/laptop or mobile?

I'm a bit confused because I can see 9 on 1080p, but only 1 on mobile.

I'm on desktop (chrome) and 1080p and have 3 on each row (6 at most at a time on the page while scrolling).

Will the "available on" logo/link be eventually shown on all licensed shows?

Cool feature, similar to what's on MyAnimeList.

My feedback:

1. I'd like the cards to be more compact as they currently eat up lots of vertical space even when all cards on the row have no text in them.

2. The countdown to next episode should include the season number too (e.g. Frieren shows episode 1 when it's a new season's episode 1).

3. Having a dropdown to filter the season and year instead of individually clicking back and forth would be cool

4. Having this accessible from the homepage when it's ready as an infobox could be cool. In fact, after adding more information to each card, these could be used like how Steam shows game info pages when hovering over a game title in articles.

Just want to say I love this new page. It’s awesome! Thanks for doing this.

Also, I love how everyone has jumped in with really good suggestions. I especially like the countdown sort, and yes, I too am in the “no A, An, The” crowd. Smile
