I've been reading this one since the first volume dropped physically, and have been keeping up with new chapters as they drop via the Viz app. Absolutely love this dumb little series to pieces.
I kinda view it more as Fist of the North Star with chickens and demons, but the Western vibe kinda goes along with that same feeling. The most recent parts of the story really lean more toward old school martial arts style movies. I won't spoil anything, but stuff like training with wizened masters, elemental techniques, hidden villages, dramatic romance, and that the sort of thing you'd see in a budget Hong Kong action movie on an old VHS rental shelf. So now I'm almost leaning toward a Big Trouble in Little China feeling. Starts out fairly simple at a glance, then gets a bit weirder and more complicated as new characters and concepts arrive until it's almost a different type of movie altogether by the end. Also, Keisuke and Elizabeth amuse me to no end. Their character designs are just perfect.
