I'm not gonna lie: when I first saw Sylvia's name in last week's Best of 2025 feature, I thought it was Grant that came out as trans. Took a little bit of digging to figure out it was the other reviewer with the surname "Jones". Regardless, congrats on that milestone of self-discovery, Sylvia. Here's to making the best of it!

As for the topic at hand, I chose to watch Flowers of Evil back when it was first airing - the lack of promotional art drew me in, and the atypical animation that gave everyone the closest thing there was to a Hand Shakers moment in 2013 absolutely sold me - but only got three episodes into it before a sluggish laptop and AP exams forced me to place it and fellow seasonal picks Attack on Titan and Gargantia on the Verdurous Planet on indefinite hiatus. I came back to Aku no Hana in 2019 as a sort of "why not?" watch, and despite having five comp exams (for my Master's degrees) and an engineering certification test (for employment) on my plate this time, I was able to reach the finish with it. I, too, want a season 2, and yes, part of that's because of the blatant "read the manga" flash-forward montage supercut they stuck at the tail end of the last episode.

Besides that and Super Eyepatch Wolf's video on Blood on the Tracks, that's all the experience I have with Oshimi.
