I wonder why the third Shenmue game was adapted out as far as ''Shenmue: The Animation'' is concerned.

The original release got me to buy a PS4. It's only fitting that the re-release forces me to upgrade once again (though I'm not sure yet which console I'm gonna get).

I usually don't tend to say this, but, I can't see this port doing that well on the Switch 2, and not because I'm one of those people who thinks third-party games don't sell well on Nintendo consoles, but the thing is that none of the previous Shenmue game have appeared on Nintendo consoles before, at least they should have ported the first two Shenmue games on the original Switch. Don't know who they're targeting this game on the Switch 2, people who already played the first two Shenmue on other consoles? I'm pretty sure those people already played III when it first came out on the PS4. I cannot even say the portability aspect could be a reason to play this game. Not even the fact that the game is on an actual Game Card could be enough reason to buy it, I'm hoping they only produced a limited amount of physical copies.

They are releasing what they have, ININ only got the rights for Shenmue 3.

ININ is all about full multiplat releases, when they can, and that's what they are doing (also it's the first time it will be 60 fps on consoles). They are also a niche publisher, they aren't expecting huge numbers or anything.

As a xbox user, I never had a chance to play 3, but played the original on the dreamcast and the 2nd on xbox.. and then the remasters on xbox one again. Not everyone got a gaming pc (or likes to play on pc) or a ps.

Pretty sure there's plenty switch owners that played on other systems when they were younger as well.

I hope there's plan for the first 2 Shenmue game to get Switch 1/2 port, I mean why not, we just saw The Disney Afternoon Collection getting a Switch 1/2 port (with 2 exclusive games not found in the initial release) 9 years after it's PS4/Xbox One/Windows PC release. So if that game can get a release 9 years later, maybe Shenmue 1 & 2 HD remaster could get a Switch 1/2 release if Shenmue 3 Enhanced Edition does so well on Switch 2, it could lead to the first 2 games getting an official release on Nintendo console.

I mean, we already saw how this went down with the first release, why release it again? 60 FPS doesn't mean much considering the fighting system is literal button mashing
