my like, 2018 self (the same person that got the true ending in vii) is looking at this and is literally freaking out. it's been how long since neptunia vii? wondering when we'll get it over here...maybe later 2026/early 2027?
see, i was massively turned off by de;rqcz for...reasons that are too many to state here (and i love de;rq...i LOVED 1), and seeing this kinda washes out the stuff that game dealt to me...
edit: now I'm getting them friggin' shakes back again, i wonder why...

I haven't really engaged with the series in over a decade due to them not making anything other than spinoffs, but I'm very disappointed they seem to be abandoning turn-based combat.

Will still probably enjoy the game (nothing else quite fills Neptunia's niche of comedic RPG), but yeah, it feels like it kinda defeats the point of going "finally, the next main installment" if you're changing the gameplay to something more in line with one of the spinoffs

Will this one also be cancelled for the Switch in the US?

I'm both incredibly happy to know that the recent teasing was really about a new mainline and sad, I don't get why they decided on this gameplay for a mainline entry; It does seem to offer more features than 4 Goddesses Online ( the best action Neptunia for me ) but we have more than enough precedent of Neptunia action games to know how it will turn out, anyway it's a Neptunia so i will be on the boat.

I'm genuinely surprised anyone expected them not to abandon turn based combat lol
Basically every JRPG nowadays is dropping it, or effectively dropping it.
Hell, even the Trails franchise has effectively dropped it down to "boss fights only" with how much they encourage using the overworld combat for normal enemies.

I went out and bought a PS4 purely to play V2 which I did for a very long time straight.
I no longer have that PS4 so I'll just have to wait for the Steam release.

Nice to see a new Neptunia game, even if they completely phased out turn-based combat.
