I would agree if there were no hints of something sus going on. For a long time now the show has had characters mention that they do not know what Kerioyl and Filimina's wish is while showcasing that they are very determined to see it happen. The real surprise is the twins being involved, I suppose them being so goofy makes them hard to suspect.
Episode 7 introduced some new characters with Kikoyu being a particularly fun addition. She has a sort of rivalry with Boxxo going on and her backstory is wild. A sentient field with a soul in it makes a vending machine seem tame in comparison. Her power as a snow people feels like a red flag though. Lamis saving the day was a nice surprise. |

That sure is a quirky director, at least he has worthwhile skills when needed so he is useful to keep around. Boxxo being hexed makes sense given that it was clearly shown that the captain touched him during their escape for some reason. The forest dungeon floor is a bit different from the rest, vegetables running up to you might be handy, that is if the big monster turning people into trees would be gone. |

It feels a bit like a hollow victory with the forest going up in flames but the people were saved I suppose (plus another captured villain). The rivalry between Boxxo and Kikoyu is still fun and it makes sense to need fresh vegetables (unless there is a special vending machine for that too). Also consistent is Hebui in always going for the shoes whenever possible and there never being a lack of new vending machines to introduce. |

I have to give kudos to the show for having Hebui's shoe fascination not just be some random kink but also trauma due to a tragic event. Shui calling him out on doing the exact thing their captain did was a solid bit of writing too, for a supposedly comfy guild they suck at communication. |

That was a good finale to a good season. The show is still nothing amazing but there was more of a story this time around plus actual character development/surprises and the animation was improved (lots more vending machine forms and features too). Although there was more of a focused story there was time for some slice of life fun and plenty of formerly shown characters returned while new ones were introduced.
The big surprise is a season 3 announcement (fitting way to announce it btw) so the story will go on. |
