I really want some friends to gush about seasonal shoujo and josei anime with, but sometimes my faves have mediocre to bad reviews and/or not a lot of people saying they like them, and it makes me feel rather lonely. I already feel alone enough in the anime community as a primarily shoujo watcher and classic magical girl fan, and I’m trying to protect my mental health, so I would very much like to make a thread (in the “Anime” subforum) for people to have a positive-only discussion of seasonal shoujo and josei titles. Is it appropriate to make this thread?

The Anime subforum is basically a wasteland these days. You might have a little more luck in Series Discussion for a specific title. But even that subforum just kind of depends on who's interested in whatever you decide to talk about. There are dozens of titles I try to discuss that I dress up with fancy openers, walls of text, and screenshots to get people interested, but I'm usually pressed for time because of my personal life (and the fact that I'm watching 40+ shows a season).
Essentially, those threads just turned into a kind of blog for me, and I just approach it as "if I have the time, I'll update it. If people eventually wanna' chime in, that's cool, too." The main purpose, though, is to have an outlet. Even if there's little-to-no feedback, the fact that you put forth the effort to express/convey your thoughts and/or emotions is what matters. Detail and elocution are important, but I try not to sound too pompous like some critics/reviewers sometimes tend to. Writing technique is a whole other can of worms for its own thread or private discussion.
If you want some pointers, but don't wanna' turn this thread into a giant how-to thread, feel free to PM me.
