This looks like a garbage soulless ripoff of Apothecary Diaries.

An anime about a girl who is exceptionally good at medicine and obsessed with muscles. It clearly follows in the footsteps of *Apothecary Diaries*, to the extent that the prince in this story could almost be Jinshi’s twin brother. The manga is fun, but it’s a miles away from *Apothecary Diaries*.

This is a really cute series! I've only read the first few volumes, but my library has more, so I guess that's my sign to pick them up!

It definitely does have similarities to Apothecary Diaries, but it's lighter in tone, and the focus is more Koyō's pursuits as a surgeon vs the royal court wanting to stick to older, traditional methods. Brushing it off without a chance based on a one-minute clip and a summary seems unfair.

Oh, look, another instance of "obscure shoujo has surface similarities to popular seinen, it gets an anime, the forums are rushed with people who haven't seen it calling it a cheap knockoff." Sigh. Oh, my poor Acro Trip, you deserved better than being called a censored clone of Gushing Over Magical Girls.

Okay, with all due respect to its fans, I will refrain from lambasting this anime until it airs and I can get the community's opinion on its quality. The knee-jerk urge to compare it unfavorably to The Apothecary Diaries is strong--clearly, as the comments section shows--but I also want to encourage more series to explore palace political drama coupled with women in medical positions. So, fingers crossed that this is an earnest work with just a different flavor.
