Looks like it’s aimed more at classic fans than some of the other recent FF stuff.

I've never played Brave Exvius, but this does give hope for SE's other games that reached EOS getting a similar treatment. I may play this in the future, but my gaming backlog would put this behind nearly 20 games.

I'm not particularly happy that the only way to get their Final Fantasy Trading Card Game promo card is by purchasing their collector's edition, which is about $210.

Uh, about Final Fantasy X/X-2 HD Remaster being release on Switch 2: Uhhh, what??? I thought the HD remaster was already available on Switch 1, and Switch 1 version is backward compatible with Switch 2, right? So why and what is the need to release the Switch 2 version if the Switch 1 version can run on Switch 2 with no problems? And what would make the Switch 2 version different from Switch 1 version (ie: content, graphics, etc...?

Oh, I thought this was a new original game. Well that's a little disappointing, though that explains why there'd be summons from other games which I had found odd.
Still Octopath 0 was well received, so hopefully this turns out well too =)

it might be a new game.

FFBE was a gacha mobile game and this uses its characters but story may be entirely new & the way each unit has a ghost behind em wasnt like the gacha version it was based on. (only had 6 units and could didn't have a turn based combat it was enemy turn or your turn and any of your units can attack at any time (even exact same time))

I remember back when Nintendo would do a classic release on mobile with a new release on console.

Like with Metroid Fusion and Metroid Prime

Guess this means digital for classic styles these days

The Switch 2 version will output at 4K whereas the Switch version would’ve been limited to 1080p (or less). They’ll also be adding the cheat options which were included in the PC port, but not the console versions iirc.

And of course there’s no upgrade path for people who already own the game — so you’re stuck paying $50 or whatever just for what basically amounts to an .ini tweak.

The need is Square-Enix’s raw, unfiltered contempt for their own audience, at full display.
