I am excited to see how long it will run and how many more episodes in total they need to cover the manga to the end. I hope it is max 1 year between batches of episodes.

If I were to guesstimate I'd say we can probably finish this current arc in about 25 episodes and then we'd need another 36 or so to finish the series out.

Before anyone says "Uhmmm, Season 2??", recall that the first season ran basically without stop for almost 4 years.

But many will still think of this as Season 5.

The production schedule for season 1 was kind of interesting. Like the article says, it kept getting slated for a year's worth of episodes, and then that kept going. It's one of those things that makes naming these seasons kind of odd. We've seen sequel seasons of some anime come out within the same year, we've seen year long gaps but with the same "season" attached to them. Here, the production kept getting renewed by the time they got to the end of the ordered episodes, so season 1 technically didn't stop for those years.
