Well, those are links and I don't know if you can change the color of the links. Nonetheless, those aren't really plot spoiler-worthy screencaps; they're mostly fun ones I found amusing. |

spoiler[C.C aint the only one with a nice ass, Kallen has one too. Suzaku utterly raped Lelouch in that encounter at the end... just like he has since Stage 25]

Ahh hahahahaha! So many people got owned in episode 5, especially towards the end! It was like one-two punches of awesome for the last five minutes of the episode!
spoiler[C.C. got dumped in tomatoes and totally humiliated, which was funny. Then Rolo pulled a gun on Viletta and she was like "Oh no, Rolo betrayed!" but then she got owned even MORE because Lelouche came in and was like, "Guess what, I know about Ogi, work for me or face disgrace!" and then HE got owned because Suzaku was like "Nunnally is the new Governer-General, now you have to fight your own sister!" and Lelouche was like "NOOOOOOOOO" just like Darth Vader in Episode III, or anyway I assume that's what happened just after it faded to black.] Most of the episode was pretty humdrum but the last part totally made it all worth it. |

The fanservice is getting substantially thicker than it was in the first season. Whatever happened to the rule of the previous season? Although this is much more than I would like, it isn't thick enough to deter me from watching this show.
At first I thought this series was very reminiscent of Death Note; however, thankfully, now it is progressing in a much different direction with much less angst and meaningless symbolism. That being said, there are still glaring similarities between the two main characters of the series. Both use any means necessary to achieve their goal not matter what the morality dictates. Both characters are also portrayed as tactical geniuses. Moreover, both characters do not fit the typical hero protagonist mold either. I am convinced that Death Note's Light is spoiler[a villain protagonist]; however at this time I am still undecided about Lelouch other than he must be a spoiler[ an anti-hero if he's not a villain.] The reason of my indecisiveness is rooted in the fact that in this series there is no clear "good" side in this series. I know may fans will assert that Lelouch is on this side, but I can't see it so simply. Some may argue that since Lelouch's cause is noble, he must be spoiler[ aligned with good ] However, viewers must remember that there is little difference between a political revolutionary and a terrorist; the only difference is perspective. Good and evil are not as clear as black and white in this series. As episode 5 has clearly shown characters from almost all sides of the conflict are engaged in some form of trickery or treachery. The only character who has good intentions and refuses to use unlawful means to liberate Japan has bought into the corrupt power system of the oppressive Brittianian government despite being the son of the former Japanese Prime Minister. He voices that he wishes to change the government from within, but his plan seems terribly idealistic, unpractical and naive. Suzaku seems to refuse to do anything that is unlawful or deceptive. This happens to be Suzaku or at least until this episode. Suzaku has even now shown Lelouch that he isn't afraid to use trickery to get want he wants. spoiler[ Putting Nunally on the phone when Lelouch thinks he is just talking to the future governor of Japan is pure genius and unexpected. I was very shocked to learn that Suzaku would stoop to this level. Despite this, his plan is pure genius and now the fact that Lelouch has recovered his memories is as good as exposed. ] I can't wait until next week. |

That's the most interesting part of this series. You can point to a specific event and say "that's wrong" or "good going" but as a whole it's impossible to categorize someone as one or the other. At this point I think you're right to say that it's unclear if Lelouch is a villain or not because though his motives may not be the best I believe he is right to fight for Japan's identity. That said, I think the comparison to Light is pretty far off the mark. Sure, they're both tactical geniuses hellbent on victory, but beyond that Lelouch cannot clearly be defined as a villain, while Light can be categorized there. Lelouch has a clear anchor in the moral world, Nunally; Light had no such anchor. The real problem will come if Lelouch loses Nunally, then he might go nuts. However, Lelouch's reason for this war is vengeance as well as protecting someone he cares about; Light wanted to take over the world. Add the character nuances, and I don't think they compare at all. Conclusion: Too early to classify Lelouch as one or the other. Has anyone noticed how honking huge this thread is after only 5 episodes?! |

What's next is spoiler[Rolo is about 50 meters away-Suzaku getting Lelouch into a situation like that is foreseeable-Nunnally being on the phone not so much if it were me I'd have rolo standing so the Geass would hit Suzaku but not him and that why he can talk to her for a short time uninterrupted. I don't think Nunnally realizes she's a puppet or bait so Zero's going to have to stage a rescue-its probably why the next episode after it is the discarded mask he's probably going to reveal his identity to Nunnally]
Also in this world nothing is clearly right and wrong anymore, it's just the lesser of 2 evils or enduring an evil to obtain something. Lelouch knows this; Suzaku on the other hand thinks he can still work within the system and he has lost some of his heart. [EDIT: Simply putting "contains spoilers" doesn't help to warn or conceal anything -- please use spoiler tags in the future.~Zalis] |

I've stumbled upon the rumors, but the ending of episode 5 still had my jaw on the floor. OMGWTF? The score this season so far is Suzaku - 1 : Lelouch - 0. Ouch.
But, spoiler[hasn't Nunnaly grown a bit... Taller? The shots of her on her Wheelchair of POWER make her body look a lot longer than I remember from the first season. Also, her hair benefitted from the "female Brittanian royalty long hair standard hairstyle", and in combination with her new clothes (looks like she raided Euphie's closet), make her about 200% prettier than she was last season.] Okay, right, episode 5. spoiler[The cat is back, they're still running after it, LOLfanservice all around, C.C. is doing something stupid again, Viletta gets blackmailed, Gino tears stuff up, and Anya is pure win (PLEASE, Taniguchi, don't kill her; also, AnyaXNunnaly end please).] To be honest, I'm liking the school episode a lot more this time around than in the first season... spoiler[I always felt that the equivalent episode to this one in the first season (episode 6) was too much comedy and not enough awesome (despite the Emperor's Giren Zabi-wannabe speech moment). This time around, they had just a sprinkling of action, and Suzaku spanking Lulu hard at the end to balance out the school-comedy aspects.] The next episode looks like spoiler[ACTION. Lloyd and Cecile are back (YAY!), Guilford gets a Vincent in his colors (he's rocking the purple and gray there), and the Black Knights are horribly disadvantaged since they don't look like they have any flight-capable machines.] Can't wait. EDIT: Oh, yeah: spoiler[GinoXSuzaku for the fangirls. I approve, lol.] |

spoiler[3-0 in Suzakus favor.. the disarming of Lelouche's bomb/gun and mental rape of Kallen in the cave. The curt "Yes" to the "you're selling out a friend!?" question (I think Lelouch wanted him to snap at that friend remark since he killed Euphie..) and now this phone call. Even though I'm a way bigger fan of Lelouch I'm loving this since I like it when things are hard and don't go always to plan. Unlike last episode which was absurdly easy for Lelouch. Also this new Suzaku is much more better than the goody goody two shoes Kira Yamato clone from season 1.] |

That phone call was the first good twist in this season so far.
spoiler[I guess Nunnally returning to Lelouch's life is going to put more strain on his activities and decisions now that she's become a pawn for the empire and seemingly recognized as the exiled Britannian princess who was believed to be dead.] Last edited by Raven Shinobi on Tue May 06, 2008 12:06 am; edited 2 times in total |

spoiler[The idea of having Nunnally become the new governess for the area was well played on the Britiannian's part. Lelouch has to deny Nunnally is his sister, a hard feat for him to do. In addition, if Lelouch attempts to rescue Nunnally it will raise a lot of suspicion. After all, the only one who would necessarily want to capture her would be the Lelouch who has his memories.]
spoiler[However, there is an way Lelouch can maneuver around this dilemma. A governor/governess of an area could be a target of Zero regardless of his relationship towards them. Meaning, Lelouch could save Nunnally by setting up a terrorist kidnapping of her. This would help cover up the fact that Lelouch has indeed regained his memories while enabling him to still rescue Nunnally. From there I believe he may reveal his identity to her once she is safely under his protection.]
spoiler[I originally thought of the possibility of Lelouch using Rolo in that manner as well. The problem that would arise though would be Nunnally would have to keep quiet about her own brother recognizing her on the phone. If she says to Suzaku or another person that she talked to Lelouch and he remembered her that would reveal the fact that Lelouch has regained his memory. I am not sure if Lelouch would take that sort of risk. Even if he told her not to tell anyone that he recognizes her, how would he explain his reasoning behind that?] Anyway, good episode. Tension seems to be picking up. On a side note, when watching this episode it made me realize something. The main reason Suzaku is getting as far as he is within the government is because of the existence of Zero. Even with Suzaku wanting Zero to be gone as much as he does, if Zero were to be killed/captured/etc Suzaku would gain promotions at a much decelerated rate. It comes down to this, even if Suzaku hates Zero, Zero has greatly aided him in achieving his own goals. It is a little ironic if you think about it. Edit: There was another thing I noticed, but forgot to mention. spoiler[Remember from last season when Lelouch used a geass on a girl at the school and made her make carvings on the side of a wall everyday? He was doing it to test the length of the geass. Well in this episode I noticed something interesting. Screenshot The last carving is only half completed. I am thinking this could be showing the geass' effect on the girl wore off.] Last edited by Skys on Tue May 06, 2008 2:04 am; edited 2 times in total |
