5 Centimeters Per Second (movie) Masterpiece This anime tells the story of a boy and his relationship with a girl, and how they slowly become more and more seperated as time goes on. It does a really great job of showing the affects that time has upon our lives. In addition to plot, it also has some of the most amazing art I have ever seen in an anime, truly awe-inspiring.
Air (TV) Good A great show that is able to take a firm hold of one's emotions.
Castle in the Sky (movie) Excellent
Code Geass: Lelouch of the Rebellion (TV) Very good
Death Note (TV) Excellent A wonderful show that does a fantastic job of showing the complexities of right versus wrong. I really love taking on the different perspectives for each character and finding their motivation and idea of justice. I do feel, however, this show loses some of its greatness when Near and Mello take over. They are just not as interesting of characters as L is. Even with this slight downfall, it still is quite an amazing show that everyone should see at least once.
Den-noh Coil (TV) Very good This anime is one that does a lot right. The characters are great, the animation is top-notch, the plot is intriguing, and it has some great morales and philosophy throughout it to top it all off. This anime great job of capturing the essence of what it means to be a kid. In addition, the overlying importance of relationships and emotions throughout the anime is very well done. This is one anime that everyone can enjoy because it contains so many things which everyone can relate to. While this anime does a lot right, the one aspect of this anime that I question is the replayability and longevity. After watching it, I have have never really felt too drawn to go back to it.
ef: a tale of memories (TV) Very good
Elfen Lied (TV) Good
Eureka Seven (TV) Very good
FLCL (OAV) Excellent This is definitely one of my favorites by far. This anime is able carries such a strong story, great music, and so much meaning which can be found throughout it. One of the greatest things about this anime is the wonderful script in it; some lines just amaze me by how well thought out they are and how wonderfully they fit into this show. Every time I watch this, it is like a scavenger hunt to see what I missed before. It just keeps pulling me back. And that is saying a lot in itself being that I rarely watch anime series more than once. Now, there are many people out there who will tell you this anime is just randomness thrown together without a purpose, but there is reason to the madness. Everything has a purpose in this anime, things just aren't put in for the purpose of taking up space and that is why it is so great. When watching this anime I constantly find myself searching for what is the meaning behind a particular object, a particular line, a particular scene. This anime is by far my favorite to analyze, and even though it only has 6 episodes it has so much more meaning than countless other animes out there that last for 20+ episodes. This anime is filled with so many great morales, is wonderfully produced, and best of all it is extremely entertaining. This is a must watch for those who haven't seen it, and a must rewatch for those who didn't understand it the first time.
Fullmetal Alchemist (TV) Very good This is another one of my favorite animes. It has a really unique and interesting story and character development is also very good. A great watch.

(The) Girl Who Leapt Through Time (movie) Excellent An all around solid movie that people of all ages can enjoy.
Gurren Lagann (TV) Masterpiece I started watching this anime and I was captured by it from beginning to end; that is something no other anime has been able to do as well as this one. It is an anime that is truly epic in proportions. It starts so small and becomes something so huge, beyond imagination. By the end of the series you will be awe-stricken by how far the plot was taken. It does a fantastic job of portraying human perseverance, and how if one puts their mind to something, even the impossible can be accomplished. Great story, awesome characters, and all around a wonderful anime. If you haven't seen this anime, watch it now! I guarantee you will not regret it.
Haibane Renmei (TV) Very good A slowing moving, but captivating story which brings up the most difficult questions in life: Where do we come from? What is our purpose? What does death entail? A very well made anime that I would recommend to nearly anyone.

Kino's Journey (TV) Masterpiece For those who don't know what it is about, or haven't heard about it before it is the story of an adventurer who travels to countless countries in a strange world. Each country is like a city, possessing its own unique culture, customs, and technology. Each city Kino stays in gives the viewer a new perspective on the world. It is wonderfully well made and just like FLCL, so many meanings exist in this story although they may be slightly more evident for the purpose of the story. This is great anime to watch if you are one searching to be able to see the world from a myriad of view points, and also which to obtain a short lesson of philosophy on life. I highly recommend this series.
Love Hina (TV) Good
Mahoraba ~Heartful days~ (TV) Good
(The) Melancholy of Haruhi Suzumiya (TV) Very good An anime which presents itself in a unique and enjoyable way with some really great music as well.
Minami-ke (TV) Very good
Mushi-Shi (TV) Masterpiece After seeing just the first episode, I could tell this was a fantastic anime. The first thing I noticed was the art. It has some of the best art I have seen in an anime series. It truly draws one into the world of the anime. Also, even though the plot was very laid-back or easy going so to speak, it keeps one's interest. This anime is able to successfully create a believable alternate earth. The explanations for why the mushi do certain things are very understandable and so are the ways to resolve the problems they cause. This show also is able to successfully portray humans as they truly are; imperfect. Nobody in this anime does everything right, even the main character has made a few mistakes, but in addition it is also shown that the distinction between right and wrong itself is not always an easy one. All in all, even though this anime moves slowly, it does it in an almost peaceful and tranquil manner that is highly acceptable.
Nausicaä of the Valley of the Wind (movie) Excellent
Ouran High School Host Club (TV) Good
(The) Place Promised in Our Early Days (movie) Excellent I saw this one after learning it was also done by Makoto Shinkai, the director of Byousoku 5 Centimeters, and I was not dissapointed. I was very glad to see the fantastic art remaining in this anime as well. A great story, and an all around very well made anime.
Princess Mononoke (movie) Masterpiece I first saw this movie when I was rather young. At that time, I was not really into anime, but I still remember greatly enjoying it. As time passed and I became more interested in anime I returned to this movie. Watching it I was filled with nostalgia and awe. It is truly a remarkable movie and my favorite of Miyazaki's works. The story has so many elements which can be related to one's own life. Elements of man versus nature, right versus wrong, love, and war. Anime fans and non-anime fans alike should see this movie.
