I appreciate Udon's initiative for bringing manga to newer, younger readers. The industry needs all the fans it can get, which will get it back up to top form.

especially since many of the original readers who fueled the manga boom of the first half of the 2000s are now growing older and becoming less interested.

I don't know about less interested. If anything I'm more interested since I have a decent paying job now than 3 years ago. Maybe I'm the minority in this?

Cool for them thinking about the children. Now, where's Robot Vol. 6, Udon? Wink

I wish them good luck, but I'm not expecting much revenue; it would be difficult enough to stay above the balance line in this specific market. For kids at this age they have very little financial freedom and they rely on their parents to purchase books and gifts, and parents who don't grow up with manga (i.e. virtually everywhere other than Japan) are unlikely to pick up something they are not familiar with.
