So this is what that omgitscoming site was about? Like Kannagi itself, that was rather underwhelming. They get props for bringing out a DVD so fast though.

Well, it looks like those that made the connection between OMGitscoming.com and Kannagi were right. But who would have guessed it would be a full on release and not a license announcement? Nice Surprise there Bandai, though a dub really would have been better. Anime catgrin + sweatdrop

And nice catch, ANN.

(edit)

The official site has more DVD info up as well as cover art for volume 2 and a T-shirt promotion.

OMG.com = Bandai licensing Kannagi. Sweet I was right, my deduction skills are awesome. Anime hyper The insanely fast DVD release I didn't see coming though, awesome on that.

I'm disappointed but not surprised by the lack of a dub. Bandai's been trying to save money by not including dubs on several of their releases lately, & Kannagi being such an otaku series, it makes sense. Still wish they'd give the Lucky Star OVA a dub, though.

Pretty cool, releasing the series on the same day it's announced.

Not sure if it was worth all that head-scratching hullabaloo, but at least they got our attention!

Okay, so I have this straight... Bandai announced the license today, Bandai starts streaming episodes today, and Bandai's releasing a seven-episode DVD of it this Tuesday?

...

Kannagi cannot be so good it warrants that big a deal.

Oh joy, another DVD with 7 episodes stuffed onto it. Why not put the whole series on one DVD? If 7 episodes are good, surely 13 (14) will be much better. Think of the savings in production costs. Who knows what other lessons we can learn from garbage quality bootlegs. Argh.

It's definitely a decent comedy, but you're right, it really doesn't.

This may the only sub-only release I pick for a long time/ever. Kind of wish it was on Rightstuf's site so I could get it during the Bandai sale that ends today.

While I agree, I think it's also a pretty damn interesting way of throwing a title out there and grabbing some eyes and ears. I was surprised.

That case looks rather thick, so I'm going to assume it has two discs.

Note I said assume, I don't know for a fact.
