Oh, wait! I shouldn't be making light of this!
I just got my nephews hooked on those Rave books! They cancel them, I'll have to actually spend time with them! HOLY fudge! They'd better not back out of Del Rey! They're the only chances of Zestubou Sensei being brought over! I'M IN DESPAIR!
edit after reading over recent posts: well, that's a relief about Del Rey not being affected. For now... Still sucks for the Rave books. Meh, there's always Ebay. Last edited by prime_pm on Mon Aug 31, 2009 3:35 pm; edited 2 times in total |

I hope someone else picks up Life. It didn't seem like Tokyopop was going to finish it anyway. Maybe someone else would.

Good point! Most of Del Rey has Kondasha titles, and if Del Rey bails on said titles, they'll be officially f^&ked over. One question, How many Del Rey titles weren't kondasha titles? |

According to the product page Dark Horse put up for the first Chobits omnibus like a week back, it should at least have color art too and I think it will be 4 volumes in one (based on the page count), so I think they'll be just as nice. It's also a little bit more than Clover (24.95 as opposed to 19.95, but it's also like 200 pages more, so I'm not too surprised. Product pages for the other volumes/series aren't up yet. |

GRAARR!! Where am I supposed to get it now? Does Right Stuf or Anime Corner Store hold stuff that old or am I going to have to track it down on Ebay or something? |

I wish TokyoPop would still maintain some of their Kodansha titles become Del Rey is becoming almost the monopoly of Kodansha manga licensed here. Let some other companies have a piece of the pie also.

I hope Del Ray doesn't get the backlash from some of there titles.
because I want Negima!, Fairy Tail, Sayonara Zetsubou Sensei and what ever else they have to keep being released. It would be nice if they could some how get the rights to Love Hina, a re-print with a new translation would be interesting |

Why am I not surprised? Hopefully this won't spread to other companies and affect other unfinished titles, like B't X and Culdcept.

That would be the best-case-scenario. Most definitely. This news is makin' me a bit nervous for Toykopop. At least Del Rey will still be releasing the series. |

I'm hoping somebody picks up Love Attack. That's one of the few comedy manga to actually make me laugh

TOKYOPOP Germany is still allowed to release the "The Twelve Kingdoms" novel.

Yeah, Kodocha's been OOP for a number of years now. http://comicsworthreading.com/2006/11/09/tokyopops-out-of-print-list/ Here's a post on CWR about it..... the actual list isn't on TP's site anymore. So Kodocha's been unavailable for more than 3 years now..... it went OOP around the same time as Marmalade Boy. I'd suggest checking Ebay, used book stores, comic shops with old stock, anime conventions, and other places you're likely to come across old manga. PS---- TP's most recent OOP list is available here http://www.tokyopop.com/corporate/biz_dev/447 Generally, they have had a number of titles go OOP each year since 2005 or so, and have posted these lists on their website. It's not a big surprise to see some of these older titles go OOP, though I'm guessing this year's list is longer due to Kodansha pulling out. Some items are also just certain editons going OOP [like say the Kingdom Hearts vol.1-4 box- note that the individual volumes aren't listed] |

Well, there goes the last hope of Life being completed. I'm not even so sure it's being scanned, although I really can't get into reading those anyways, so if it's not out in gn form, I guess I'm SOL.

Oh gosh, I really hope that's true for the English editions too...though I can't really hold much hope. :[ The Twelve Kingdoms is a fantastic series, and seems to be one of the only light novel series that Tokyopop had any intentions of finishing (other than the Trinity Blood and so-called "Chibi Vampire" ones, which they recently announced they were going to continue publishing). EDIT: I checked the link and it looks like it's the 3rd TK novel, which was already published in the states, so unless they have the 4th one still, their status looks even crappier. :[ Why couldn't Tokoypop publish more than one novel in the series a year?!? I agree. Although I am pissed about the Rave books- I just read 20 and I have a few more. Maybe I can find them before everything drops. I see up to 33 on Amazon and Wiki says it goes to 35. That sucks hardcore. And Get Backers....I gave up on that awhile ago but i'll try to find the rest of that too. *sigh* |
