I've never gone to a con before but plan to attend Otakon in 2010. For those of you who have attended before, is it best to go on Friday, Saturday, or Sunday?

I think the entire weekend is fantastic. If you want a good encompassing experience, I would go on Friday and/or Saturday. Sunday generally has about one good thing going on but mostly things are closing up and it's fairly depressing (not to mention it always seems to rain in Baltimore on the sunday of Otakon, even the heavens cry for it's end!).
Sunday does have one major redeeming factor as in that's when everything in the dealer room goes on sale. If you can stand the crowd of otaku trying to get a great discount on that last day, that would be the time to drop your savings. It really depends on the year too. There have been some Otakon's where they had a great movie on late at night because they didn't want to show it when there were mostly youngin's around (2004 had Battle Royale 2 I believe). Overall, my answer would be a long winded Friday or Saturday. Have fun in the Maryland July heat!
