They already made a Devil Summoner show almost three decades ago

My guess is a new cast and storyline that can fit in 12 episodes. They'll be American. Could be so bad it's good, or just plain bad. Most likely will end up forgotten like that one Resident Evil show Netflix made (remember that?)
While I'm glad the live-action One Piece seems to be quite good, it sadly means CEOs and producers think just any sort of Japanese media franchise can be translated into live-action without realizing why OP worked.

I mean One Piece was a series that seemed impossible to adapt to live action yet proves that it can absolutely be done with the right people involved.

One Piece changes and omits large things form the source material. I don't think it's fair to call it a good adaption. Some people may like it but it is by no means a substitution for reading the manga or even watching the anime. Something that even Oda seems to agree upon given The One Piece exists to tell the true story of the manga.

Never thought a series like Persona would get something like this.
Goes to show you how much mainstream success the franchise has gotten over the years.
On that note, I wish someone could adapt Primal Rage into an animated series.
God, that would be so fire.
Either have Adult Swim (they made Primal which is kinda like Primal Rage, but not really) or Netflix have a hand at adapting it.

Really I'd think if you wanted to try doing Shin Megami Tensei the best approach would probably be to do a miniseries or something adapting Digital Devil Story and if that did alright then dipping your toe into more overtly SMT stuff from there.

Take what is probably the most Japanese and intrinsically anime game franchises out there and letting a company known for flat out detesting anime and wanting to change is cosmically astounding to see. Unfortunately I can see a lot of people loving it precisely for that reason.

A company known for detesting anime? The same company with a bunch of anime they have under their belt?

If it's anything like One Piece and Cowboy Bebop then it probably will be. No fanservice. Super diverse cast. Everyone's older and middle aged. Contempt for the source material. Remove all that nasty 'Japanese humor'. Sounds like the exact Persona game the haters have always wanted |
That comparison when the One Piece live-action show is both very well received and is actually very respectful of the source material. Not sure where you got contempt there.

Someone hasn’t watched season 2, yes season 1 had to adapt too much material 95 chapters or 10.5 volumes and ended up changing and cutting out and omitting a lot partially due to the runtime, and partially because scenes were filmed, but because of it getting edited during the strike some stuff that the director wanted in got left on the cutting room floor (specifically I'm referring to Ussop vs Chu which the filmed). Season 2 however settled down into a much better pace of adapting 60 chapters or 6.5 volumes, where they didn't really have to cut out anything. Nothing big is skipped or cut out on the plot front, other than Karoo, but that’s clearly because of budget and his removal is quite seamless.
But yeah not sure about this Persona series, it all depends on the people behind the show, the show runner looks like he could be fine as some of the shows he’s done I’m familiar with and thought were good. Although here we don't even know if it's adapting any of the games or doing it's own original series. Both carry their own risks and we really do't know much other than who's in charge so it could go either way. Still I'm still leaning towards not thinking it'll be any good, as so far the only series they've really been able to sucessfully adapt has been One Piece.

Has this ever worked? Bebop tried it, canceled after one season. Kakeguguri tried it, split order that’s doomed after the second half and was only really notable for the weirdest pro wrestling cameo ever. Hell, Warrior Nun turned a cheeky comic about an unironic hero into a bland, ironic tale, and it got canned due to low ratings. There’s changing things that don’t work in the transition from animation to live action, and there’s changing everything that made the original appeal in the first place.

Persona will turn into the next Death Note show...
But what type of story wil it have? Of course, the content of 2 can't touched again due to the usage of the Nazi.

I have zero faith in this. I can’t imagine a live action Persona working. I’m calling it now. It’s going to be horrible and will be a meme for years.
