I think it's a cool idea adding a preview DVD with a manga volume! And I mean for any series, not just kodomo no jikan. Afterall, if a person bought the manga volume and ended up liking the anime preview enough to buy it then everybody'd get a sale. Cool

I read the series summary for the TV show and it said one of the girls was sexually attractive to her teacher.

Yeah, nothing wrong with that picture Twisted Evil

Yeah, nothing wrong with that picture Twisted Evil

Well, you have to read the manga to get a further understanding of what is going on with the whole thing. Find some scans or something to know what is...

I agree with you and love the anime. But, I had this same argument 2 weeks ago I think. It proved pointless since most people automatically assume without reading or watching at least 1 thing.

I think you mean attracted rather than attractive. Slight difference.

Yawn. Trolling from ignorance is so last year.

Well obviously you haven't, if you think the girls are six years old. It's about half a minute into the first episode when the "3-1" sign is quite blatantly displayed above the classroom door. Troll or not you've just exemplified what I already knew: most of the people who knock this show don't even know what they're talking about.

Check.

First, I'm not going to address the age issue beyond what 2DOtaku said other than saying that throwing the age of 6 out there is simply trolling and no, they don't look 6

There is ignorant bashing, like those who assume the creator/mangaka for this show must be male; willfully ignorant bashing made from superficial first impressions when bashers seek out and latch on to things confirming their viewponts; and there is bashing made from holding a very black and white moral worldview. The show is incredibly complex and emotionally deep, yet by saying "actual lolicon or not..." you might as well say "whatever the truth may be" is something you cannot accept.

"why this world wont let kids be kids is beyond me... ". Because while the other kids do, the three kids the story revolves around themselves simply don't act like the naive innocent kids YOU want them to be.

They have developed a sense of maturity, caring and a sharp perception well beyond their age, even beyond those of most adults and THAT is what leads to bond--and the ensuing dilemma and tension--between Daisuke (the teacher), Rin and those around them. While there is moeness and loliness as part of the show's aesthetics, the entire series really emphasizes the complexity of the relationship as any attraction returned by Daisuke from Rin's advances is due to her underlying personality and NOT from any loli fetish at all. In fact beyond trying to break through societal taboos, things are made even more complex by Rin's tragic past, and suspicion from Daisuke of Rin's own guardian, Reiji. Of course that issue alone is not clear and is yet another rich and complex story on its own (from wikipedia):
spoiler[Rin Kokonoe's first cousin once removed and legal guardian. The product of a dysfunctional home, Reiji Kokonoe grew up without ever receiving any kind of praise from his short-tempered, adulterous alcoholic of a father in spite of his achievements, academic or otherwise, though both he and his mother were often on the receiving end of mean-spirited criticism and vitriol. While he initially believed that her reluctance to leave with him to begin a new life elsewhere and willingness to endure all the verbal and psychological abuse was for his sake, he eventually learned in an indirect fashion that she was doing it in order to ensure her own continued security and well-being, not his. In that moment, the lifetime of adoration and sympathy he held for his quiet, kind, long-suffering mother curdled into hatred, and he slowly began treating her with the same contempt his father did as a result. Having grown angry and resentful at the world and everyone around him, Reiji began skipping school and locking himself in his room. His hatred for his parents grew so great that, when a freak traffic accident left him an orphan while he was still in high school, he did not shed a single tear for them.

Having grown alienated from his extended family due to circumstances surrounding his parents' deaths, Reiji traveled to Tokyo to live with the other black sheep of the Kokonoe family, his older cousin Aki, and her illegitimate daughter, Rin. Though initially just as cynical towards and mistrustful of her as he had become towards all adults, he was literally moved to tears upon learning that she had chosen to live her life as an outcast rather than have an abortion.

Seeing in her the loving mother he always wished he had had, it is perhaps unsurprising that Aki's gentle, quirky nature and visible affection for her child soon won Reiji over and he fell in love with her. Though still in high school, Reiji worked hard, and, after securing a position at an accounting firm, confessed his feelings. While initially reluctant to return his feelings due to their age difference and status as cousins, Aki eventually entered into a relationship with him that was, by all appearances, a happy one.[16] Despite the fact that she never quite managed to help him completely let go of the anger and hatred within him,[7] Reiji's newfound family succeeded his silencing his inner demons and he finally found some measure of peace in his troubled life, one which, unfortunately, was not to last. ... ]

.. to give you another example.

If I get roasted for this, so be it: anything where the main characters are underage girls automatically turns on the "SQUICK" switch in my head. So no offense to people who like it, that's how I operate.
