Does the Erin anime cover all of the first two novels or just parts?
I would love it if Viz brought these over here. The story, from the anime at least, is such a good one.

The anime isn't finished, so hopefully that helps with your question. Never read the novels, but I hope the series will possibly finish the novels now. It's actually a rather good series despite moving slow sometimes.
