Short answer: Not for a while.
Long answer: Oda has presented so many open possibilities for stories, that there is no way that he can finish it within a short amount of time. They're not even halfway to the island that is supposed to have "One Piece" on it. Every other adventure that they go through they also add new exciting members to their crew. I think it's great to be honest. Oda has improved so much with his artwork and storyline, he is a great presenter. Right now we're at 53 volumes worth right now, but I don't get tired of it. There's so much more that has potential within the story that people want to see, so Oda is catering to it. |

Unless One Piece doesn't make as much money as Viz Media and others company's like, One Piece will be going on for hopefully several years to come.
Five Hundred thiry four chapters later, I am still enjoying the series. One Piece is such a great series, it's shonen, has comedy and is every page of the chapter is done well. Compared to the fluffy moe garbage that is popular these days, One Piece is much better. |

what's so special about this one piece? I read the first few chapters and it was alright, but it was kind of weird and it looked like it was made for kids.

Well, it is published in Shonen Jump.... But there's enough blood in plenty of fights if that's what you're looking for. The art style certainly does take some getting used to, though. To put it simply, the reason that One Piece is so popular is because it's so fun. Somebody might give a slightly more verbose answer, but that's what it boils down to. |

One Piece will stop once Oda retire. This will probably be his life's work and I don't blame him. Most artist end a series, and start a new series only to watch their mangaka career go down the toilet.

I... don't know! One Piece is what it is: A huge adventure. I heard that either on youTube or here, so don't quote me on it.
But... I hope it will end with a big BANG! =D But... Viz is so behind on the volumes, and yet they want to get closer to the Japanese release of Naruto... Hope they do the same with One Piece. I have nothing against Naruto, but it gets annoying with the fanboys/girls... Epsecially the Sasuke obsessers. |

Oda is actually quoted as having the same ending idea as when he first started. Only thing different would be little details, such as the many members of the pirate crew that there are now, obviously. |

Cool. I didn't know that.
Well, it'll be a while after it ends in Japan for Viz to finish publishing it all, don't you think? I mean, Viz is behind what, 33 volumes or something? In Shonen Jump, they are still in Alabasta (Which is where I stopped watching the anime, thank God). the weird thing is, it was only a few chapters behind from where I stopped watching... Ah, I ramble on... |

I know your pain. While I was in Japan, that arc was going on. And it took forever to finish. Alabasta doesn't even end until volume spoiler[23], I believe. |

Hm. Dang.
I swear, these sort of things make me want to... Okay, I have no clue what the monkey to put here... Ugh. Like I said before, Viz needs to do a volume boost with One Piece, I don't watch or read Naruto.... I sigh of boredom, I would like to see the current arc without a bootleg website... |

There are probably a couple of factors as to why One Piece isn't so popular. One, it got totally screwed over when the anime was first licensed, dubbed, and aired by 4Kids. Two, it stood in limbo for a while until Funimation picked it up. Three, the manga hasn't picked up so much over here because the story never really caught on with manga readers. Four, who needs One Piece when we've got Pirates of the Caribbean? These reasons are why I think that the series in manga format has never really caught on. It's unfortunate, but I think that hopefully things will pick up when they start adding more and more of the crew that they have now in the Japanese version so far. Depending upon spoiler[whether Tony Tony Chopper is with the crew right now, the Straw Hat Pirates will add three more members to the crew after him.] Hopefully people will start to catch on then, because the story is just epic after that happens. |

Um, the manga version of One Piece is popular. It's just that since Naruto is their bread and butter, Viz prefers to give more space in SJ USA to Naruto than to its other properties.

I know it's popular... Oh, and fighterholic, I got a jar of dirt... Guess what's inside it!
And I also agree about 4kids... So bad, it doesn't deserve capital letters... I shoulden't be taking it all out on Naruto... |
