Altia is the Duke Nukem Forever of cinema. And it's making Duke look timely.

Cameron had once said he would work on a live-action adaptation of Yukito Kishiro's Battle Angel Alita manga after he directed those two sequels, but he more recently said that the film would not happen "for a few years."

this is just an update regarding his claims of a live action adaption of a manga.

I'm still not convinced James Cameron would do a good job with a Gunnm movie, so he can take as much time as he needs.

It's never going to get made, and we'd better just accept it.

The problem is as long as Cameron is sitting on the rights, no other adaptation can ever be made.

I doubt anyone else would have bothered, this was clearly a pet project for a title that wasn't AKIRA or Ghost in the Shell, both which are unarguably more well known and still haven't seen their productions really move forward any discernible degree.

James Cameron does not do what James Cameron does for James Cameron.

James Cameron does what James Cameron does because James Cameron is James Cameron.

I thought he only had the live-action movie rights. You're telling me he has rights for all forms of adaptations?

Have to agree, no one else is going to make a movie of Battle Angel Alita. Cameron also has the money to fund it himself, well he did before funding the Avatar sequels. So lets hope the sequels do good.

Don't be pessimistic. After all, it only took nearly 2 decades for Avatar to come out.
