If anyone here has been keeping up with Shin Chan recently, they just released Season 3, Part 2 on DVD, and I noticed that on the last episode of the DVD, there was an entire 2-parter about how the show's getting cancelled, and it'll never come back, etc. At first I thought it was just poking fun, and pulling people's legs like Shin Chan's style of humor usually does, but as the episode progressed, the characters seemed to get much more serious, until it lead up to some dramatic conclusions, a panning-up to the sky, and Shin Chan's sad face only muttering in a gloomy voice "Yo... time to go". (You can see it on AnimeRatio.com) But I've been really concerned, I loved the dub of Shin Chan, it was colorful, hilarious, and light-hearted. If they really cancelled dubbing Shin Chan, then I'll be really torn apart. Anyone got any ideas/thoughts/opinions/facts to share? It's just really confusing. Nobody has any news regarding this topic, 'because I'm really worried about the future of Shin Chan.

P.S. tl;dr, Is Shin Chan gonna be cancelled?
P.P.S. Sorry for being so dramatic! Razz

Not really sure, but I kind of doubt they would ever dub all 815 (and counting) episodes.

I'm sure if there is another season, the folks at ANN will let us know.

I'm in the middle of the last ep from season 3 and when they started talking about getting cancelled I started saying Oh! No! outloud and my bf was in another room and he thought something was wrong with me...

I just watched Ouran Host Club entire series in like 2 days and I was soooo sad it ended...i even cried a little...

Sometimes I feel silly getting so emotionally attached but then that just means it's really quality programming[/quote]

Sure they could. All they need to do is edit various scenes from those 800 episodes into a single 30min clip and have Laura Bailey say penis over and over.

well in the eu it is completely banned
but the age-rating company in my country says still 6+
but in truth parents rate it 14+
kids rate it 12+

but a ban on anime could be the cause of this serie

Wait, what? Since when is it banned in the EU? I know that there were some problems with it in Spain, but I haven't heard anything from other countries.

It was aired on a Dutch cartoon channel for god knows how long, but it just sort of ran its course which probably had a lot to do with the fact that you can't keep repeating the same old stuff over and over again (which is what they did with Tokyo Mew Mew as well).

It was banned in India, I can't find anything about it being banned anywhere in the EU.

Wouldn't be suprised if Funimation put it in backburner like they did with Case Closed,a long series like Shin Chan would need big numbers for Funi to continue dubbing it.

near belgium (close to my real country [same language {partly}])
it is banned because it is obscene
of course you wouldnot find anyting about the bann since kids will search for it and this isnt what parents want

kids will get strange ideas of it : like it is realy the meaning of doing this stuff they see

it was running until 4 kids stopped in my country (4 kids if i recal it correctly)
and it was on fox kids/jetix (now disney xd [24hours])

Was Shin-chan itself banned or Funimation's hackjob? From what I've heard, the latter would be easily believable.

Since parts of Belgium could get Jetix, it does seem rather unlikely that there was a ban. Unless they banned Jetix altogether. I know that Jetix stopped airing it at one point, but it came back on again later.

But parents will complain about everything these days, because all know that when we were still kids that we copied everything that we saw on tv *facepalm*

It was Funimation's version. I always thought that the original was aired around here, but I've heard that there are a lot of differences between that one and Funimation's version.

Banned or cancelled because of poor ratings?

Haven't we had this argument before? Oh, no, I've found it - it was Doraemon.
