I don't have much time in my daily life to sit down and draw my manga anymore like years ago because of School, so I wanted to know is there any place I could send my copywriten work and have a hired group who would read the story draw my manga for me?

Well manga are japanese comics so I guess you'd have to translate your script into Japanese first so they'd at least be able to read it? Jump does these contests where they look for really good potential manga storylines and if someone's gets picked they pair them up with an artist. Hikaru No Go and Eyeshield 21 were both created through this and they've become enormously successful, while others like Yuuto crash and burn. You seem to be pretty confident in your script so I guess, good luck?

Although my understanding is that some of the companies that publish comics in the US accept scripts for consideration, generally, especially when dealing with someone who is not an established comics writer already, they tend to only consider 'complete works' (script + art) Probably your best bet *if* you need a manga-style artist to illustrate your script would be something like Craigslist. You can also take a look and see if some of the more well-known art schools like SVA and SCAD have places on their websites for you to post job offers. Once you have that 'complete package', you can then go ahead and self-publish, or try to shop it around to some of the publishers out there like Antarctic or even Tokyopop. |

The Internet's the best place to look for artists really. I'd suggest posting an active submission on anime sites (generally they have an art/manga section), devinatART, and Digital Webbing Classifieds. I don't know how likely you are to find somebody, espeically if you can't offer money, but it's probably your best bet.
As for getting published, TokyoPop is really your best bet, although some smaller publishers like Antartic Press or eigoMANGA might take your work. TokyoPop does both open submissions and the Rising Stars of Manga contest, so you have two chances with them already. Any for America's own comic publishers - Marvel, DC, Image, or Oni - are very unlikely to accept a submission. With Marvel and DC they don't look for unknown talent. With Image you might stand a chance, but they only accept completed projects, and it might cost you a nice chunk of change since I believe you have to pay for advertising. Oni would be your best bet but they do not take unsolicited projects - you have to be recommended. Honestly, for publishing, your best bet is the Internet. Webcomics give you a large amount of exposure, practice, and opportunities to get to know the fans of your work. From there, you can build a reputation and be more likely to get hired elsewhere. Good luck! |

Over on the Comics Journal messboard someone made a good point; in the dating world of writers and artists, writers are the boys and artists are the girls. Meaning artists can sit back and pick and choose, and if they're any good they won't choose a writer who isn't very good.

Very well put, Aaron. (The frosting on the cake, when you apply your theory to me, is I'm both the artist and the girl. Anyway, Laruto, everyone else's suggestions have been spot-on. Good luck with your search for an artist. |

(He's) asking you were are you located and it's right underneath your username/avatar. LOl that's funny
Almost as funny as trying to break into the manga industry as a writer with no proven art skill. But good luck anyways and post a few sample pages once you have it done so we can get a taste of your work. |
