Whenever I start a new thread, I peer around the forums to see if anyone has talked about my topic in the past. I found one that covered 2Chan covering the 2006 Kuso Anime awards. I was actually curious about Kuso-ge, the famous example I know of being Cho Aniki though there are many other examples from Japan and the ROC such as Hong Kong 97. Speaking of the past, it's been said here before that there's only ever serious business on Anime News Network, so maybe this can lighten up the mood.
Cho Aniki to me has got to be one of the strangest games that I have ever read about, though I have not had the ability to ever play it. For that matter, I have not ever played Hong Kong 97, though I have also read quite a bit about it. That is why I was shocked to find series like Coyote Ragtime Show marked as Kuso Anime both in that older thread and elsewhere online. Unless, does this mean that people love the show for all of its faults? Considering that I am relatively new to the idea of Kuso, I was wondering what other people’s impressions where of the whole concept. Please note that I am not attempting to turn this into a recommendations thread. By the way, I apologize if this was in any way offensive. I realize, of course, that 'Kuso' is an expletive. |

So basically your saying that its like the Raspberry Awards:
1. Post a link to this so called shit awards 2. if anyone seriously gets pissed for using expletives not directed at them then wow 3. Kuso means shit aka crappy 4. Pretty sure a lot of people have no idea what you are saying as this forum primarily consists of an American audience -what is Hong Kong whatever? -what is kuso (I know, but most people wont) -what is cho aniki? -2006 a little irrelevant -CRS was regarded as one of the worst mangas created so what are you saying. People disliked the manga and the show. Look at it's ratings. With regards to the anime, only the animation was good |

Sorry for the delay! Nah, the idea of Kuso isn't a specific award or anything; it's more of just a label that people apply for fun. In regards to Coyote Ragtime Show, perhaps I am more forgiving than many other individuals are then. Hong Kong 97 was a Japanese homebrew Super Nintendo game that protested the People's Republic of China assuming control over the city of Hong Kong. It's known for tasteless humor in light of a serious event, as well as being ridiculously hard and bad. It got a lot of lip service on some websites, because of today's ROM emulation crowd. Though it's technically illegal to distribute it, it was illegally manufactured in the first place.
