That remains to be seen. Much like Lord of the Rings, once principle photography on the Avatar sequels is completed, he may have the time to start working on Alita.

Really, Cameron seems to be the only one that whats to do a live action version of Battle Angel Alita. So if he doesn't do it, it would be disappointing, but really no big loss.

I have my fingers crossed. Still it will be a long wait. Horizon will make it to the planet Pluto, before we will find out for sure.

I am reading Battle Angel Alita for the first time right now. It seems like a good match for Cameron if he ever gets to it.

I do have to wonder how it'll be received. Everyone's used to 3D by now, so that's no longer its lone selling point. The Dances with Alien Smurfs angle is gone as well.

Anyone else wonder if Disney is kicking in some money for these Avatar sequels, in order to sustain interest in the Avatar-land they're building at Walt Disney World?

I've read a couple of interview's with Camron where he has said that he keeps pushing it back bc he wants to do it right. It will be made but it's a pet project for him. He loves the source material. And if he has to fund it himself the revenue's from Avatar series will help that.

Of course! As if we all don't need to get preached at by the film's annoying anvilicious message enough, we get three more films showing how Na'vi = good and humans = bad!

I mean geez, where can you really go with three sequels for Avatar?

As for Battle Angel being delayed yet again, I will be lucky if I was alive to see it if it ever comes out in our lifetime.

Okay, so I know nothing about this, so help me clear my confusion please.
As far as I know, Avatar is a movie with real actors, so why is this a news on the ANN? Did I miss something and this is also a Anime? But this guy isn't a Anime director?! I don't understand...

This all so has to do with Yukito Kishiro's Battle Angel Alita Anime film / manga that is from JPN as for Avatar. No it has nothing to do with JPN or anime but ANN dose not all ways post just anime news and since new Avatar films mean a push back for Battle Angel this falls under anime news Smile
