Yes I'm very embarrassed to say it and I admit to being a hypocrite given that I promote and support legit sources for anime and manga. But I just can't help it and perhaps if I bring to light the fact that EVERY online (mix of scanlation, ad-supported webcomic, or whatever I happen to run across) manga that I read are gender bender titles. These are usually one-offs, very new and so niche they will never see the light of day in official English print versions. I just have this endless fix for gender bender, crossdressing, trap or body-switching types. My love for this type started with Ranma 1/2 but recently I just can't get enough of them and there are A LOT out there. But in order to quench my thirst I must get them quick and easy. I'm so ashamed, only because of being a pirate by reading them. But it's not like I'm pirating a lot of mainstream stuff that can easily be acquired at bookstores. This stuff is hard to get any other means.
Last weekend alone I tore through 5 titles: Asuka Hybrid <-- nothing short of brilliant Boku wa Onnanoko <-- by none other than Takako Shimura Kaichu! Bra Girl <-- which is absolutely phenomenal A Trap Can Use a Girl's Weapons <-- short but sweet I'm working up the willpower to purchase these copies, but given the fact that I'll probably pay far more in shipping, service costs, time and effort, it's mostly a waste to do so. It would be completely different if these were simply as common as any other manga people normally read through legit sources. What should I do? Edit: decided to remove the last 2 paragraphs and change the thread title. Just curious to see if this might make the thread catch people's eyes more. |
