For the past couple of months i put all of my interest in manga and anime to the side after just being overwhelmed by the flaming, assholishness (which is found on a large degree in every anime related setting "One Piece didn't run for X volumes F-wad! It ran for Y"), and the amount of crap that was the same as the crap thats been coming out all along but is SOOOOO much better than that other crap.
Soooooo anyways, after getting that rant outta my system, I would like to know series I should check out that are more recently released. Ps. I'm interested in the more older skewed series like Monster and Akira and titles that are off the mainstream. (please do not mention Beserk and Gantz) And I hate all shonen/shojo romantic comedies with a passion. Thanks for your help. |

You like seinen? Well there's 20th Century Boys, same author as Monster.
Plot Summary: Kenji and his friends start to notice a series of odd occurences related to their childhood. A mysterious cult-leader named "friend" is out to destroy the world, and it has something to do with Kenji's childhood memories. (sum by this site.) I enjoyed it immensely. |
